He made it 2/3 of the way through the 8th round without getting hurt once in the fight, until Ward lowblowed him, so how "done" was he? And maybe one reason he was gassed were all the fouls. Anyway we will never know what would have happened, so just because you're happy with the overall outcome, please don't excuse the fouls. Kovalev was still in the fight when they happened, and they completely turned the tide. Before the fouls in the 8th round: even fight. After those fouls: Ward win on bogus stoppage. So you can speculate about who was more tired (Ward was tired too), but we will never know. Kovalev is also very good at hanging in when he's tired, as we saw in the first fight. And I think Ward struggled more to make weight this time, and with his extra bulk, he was tiring more than last fight. You could see heavier breathing in the corner.

I do think at minimum Commission or whoever should call Weeks in for a sit down an let him see the review of the tape and ask him whether he thinks that was a low blow or not?

His answer should determine whether he should continue officiating fights of this magnitude any longer or not.

yeah think the ward fans have been crowing too early. technically by the letter of the law thats at the very least should be changed to a no contest, if not a dq for ward. whether you think he was going to gas or not, you cant legitimately win a fight by a low blow so dont be shocked if this gets overturned.

Duva is pissed and trying to deflect from the fact that her best fighter just fought in his biggest fight with a $0 purse.

          That **** should be criminal

dumb sht like this should really be worthy of a ban.

Nobody wants to see this again. We already had to suffer through Kovalev's excuses from the first fight and soap opera camp drama. It's time to move on.

Somebody go get Stevenson's bum a*s and take that belt.

It should definitely be a no contest or DQ, but we know the NSAC is in Ward's pocket just like HBO was. Lost all respect for Lampley as well last night. The NSAC has to correct their mistake last night to have any credibility left, but I just don't think they care. They don't even bother hiding their corruption anymore, but they wonder why boxing keeps losing viewership, and why no one bought tickets to Kovalev-Ward II.

So you totally missed him getting wobbled and staggering before he retreated to the ropes.

Low blows or no I though the ref robbed the fans there and watching by stopping the fight. At least call it a knockdown and see if Kov can stand for an 8 count. I though Sergei could have made it out of the round and it was still a very close fight.
I did think the shots were low. I think the ref didn't want to take a point from Ward but made an even worse decision stopping the fight. I went back to the beginning and Ward did hit below where Weeks said was ok on Kov. Bad stoppage.
