I don't think it will matter. Different fanbases and demographics will purchase each of these fights. I don't see one stealing anything from the other. In fact, the GGG/Canelo fight will be just what the sport needs to wash the bitter taste from it's mouth after the amateurish McGregor/Floyd exhibition. It will help to get boxing right back on track where it belongs. Especially with the knowledge that Floyd will finally go away with his cherry-picked 50-0 record and never to be seen competing inside of a boxing ring again.

I think the fight can actually help give GGG vs. Canelo a boost. The only way it's going to hurt the fight is if McGregor vs. Floyd is a dud.

I think you got that backwards.....as for me I was going to buy both fights but after Oscar pulled that b**ch move (cuz he & nelo said they would fight conor) so it got me debating on getting the nelo v. lil g fight. A grown a** man telling us not to buy the Floyd fight like if its bad for my health like gmo foods. I believe that too and a ton of UFC fans will be brainwashed into believing Mac can win which is the "plight of the ignorant" in its fullest glory and like you said, Boxing fans will cleanup on those bets like taking candy from a child. Oddly, those bets will help Boxing fans because when tons of bets come in on Mac, that will raise the odds a little for Mac and this will lead to a bigger money cleanup for Boxing fans, and a bigger shock to those who bet on Mac. But, the UFC industry will make some long term money and try to get revenge by staging more of these type fights but with bringing boxers in the Octagon. This could end up being an ongoing rivalry.

UFC has been trying to bring boxers inside the Octagon since it began in 1993. Art Jimmerman was in UFC 1. How could anyone forget the Couture/Toney nightmare?

The simple fact is only washed up, desperate boxers with nothing to lose will ever go near an Octagon..

Yea UFC is going to have to get some boxers into the cage just to show that the sports are different and MMA guys are actually beats in the cage. So that will be interesting in the aftermath.


The odds are already pretty good because Mayweather is only like -700, which is a big favorite but honestly he is a much bigger favorite than that. Still I think the real money is better with MMA fans directly because you will not have to give them anywhere near par value on odds, if you give them 2 to 1 or 3 to 1 I think a lot will jump.


Those people that lose money will be extra salty about boxing, which will be tough to listen too, but if someone was silly enough to bet on Conor I can't take their opinion on boxing seriously they don't care about the sport at all.

Same. Not buying Floy/Mac, but definitely buying GGG/Nelo. I want to see compelling drama, not a 1 sided crap fest. I honestly think people are gonna change their opinion on Mac, regardless of if you think he'll lose or not. He's gonna look so so so bad. Just watch. He's gonna look scared by round 2. Conor is not & will not be scared, he fights for a living....drama will be in the Mayweather fight, you can count on that. Certain people awlays complain when they see sweet science so they can enjoy the Floyd v. conor fight cuz someone (conor) is going to get their a** handed to them. And all the casuals and mma fans are going to be saying how boxing sucks but then canelo is going to have a devastating KO victory over ggg like he did over Kirkland immediately after the may/PAC fight that will get the blood flowing again.

Right up to the end of round 1 and the last bell when Boxing fans realized they were duped by a circus act non-fight. Then they will start salivating an actual fight, with heart-pounding anticipation and intensity. Right now the FloydMac fight is all smokescreens and mirrors as they say in magic....till the final bell when reality sets in and people are saying WTF was that crap.
