To be honest I DO feel sorry for him, yeah he would make a couple of millions etc but at the end of the day he has put a lot of efforts into the LHW Division, he has been exciting, he has fought everyone in the division apart from Adonis. So yeah I too would be bitter or upset if I was in his position. But he can use it to motivate himself and hopefully went he and Adonis faces off it would make both of them great money.

we don't know the deal...if they split the revenue, Kovalev gets paid....if it's profit, then yeah, he's fighting for free.

I just posted that in another thread yesterday! His Purse is probably so Low that Main Event didn't want to put in on the Card likely until AFTER the Media looked at it! It is likely LESS than 3 Million

All this BS about "Foreign Fighters Don't Fight For Money They Just Enjoy Fighting..." ***ING LIES! That man is Top 3 P4P many thought he won the 1st Fight he should be ***ing paid ACCORDINGLY but that is kind a what happens when you're with a Small Time Promotion and you're the only fighter keeping the Lights On at Main Events Promotions

I think his Purse is EMBARRASSINGLY LOW compared to Ward that they don't want to disclose it because it would make Kovalev fans pissed if they seen his Purse!

He gets a share of what Main Events makes off of the fight. Roc Nation is the lead promoter in this event so I would imagine they will get most of the revenue.

Then he has to pay John David Jackson, cutman, assistant trainers, sparring partners, medical bills and taxes.

He's basically fighting for free. I thought the days of Don King style screw jobs were over. This is outrageous for a fighter of this caliber.

He will probably end up making less than Rigondeaux.

Seems Stevenson made the right move when he avoided Kovalev and ran away to be with his uncle Al Haymon.

Every single penny comes from the fans – from the ticket sales, from the pay-per-view, Sergey is earning. Nobody’s giving it to him.”
Kovalev is going to get rich if that's true, I mean he has a ton of fans on this site so the gate and PPV numbers should be glorious.

Actually on second thought, most vocal people on this site will probably stream it then complain how he was robbed again.

you dont know what you are talking about. Roc and Main Events are splitting the REVENUE, and then each side has to pay their guy. If it does similar numbers as last time, then Kov and Duva will be splitting somewhere between 4 and 5 million, on a 75-25 split Kov's way.

                  Rigo is making $120k

Kov should end up with somewhere around $3 million, before he pays his management and trainer

Just because he doesnt have a guarantee doesnt mean he isnt getting paid.

The Rigo statement was an exaggeration. I thought he had a minumum guarantee of $1 million in Roc Nation for some reason.

Kovalev is the only fighter on that card with no guaranteed purse and this is not something you see for a PPV headliner. If you point me to a major PPV fight where a headlining fighter had a $0 guarantee I will stand corrected. It's 100% understandable why he's angry about this situation.

You've got the Mayweather/McGregor announcement and this fight hasn't been promoted very well. He's taking all the risks from being the one in the ring and taking punches to worrying about if the event sells and not even knowing much he will get paid.

He had a $2 million guarantee the first fight so why couldn't they at least match that?

Once Kovalev puts his hand on Andre, it would not matter anymore.. Bigger purses doesn't mean you are a better fighter.

One of the reasons Kov probably agreed to it because it was personal for him.
