I don't understand why so many people dislike Andre Ward?

I like Andre Ward, seems like a good guy. I just can't get into his style. I appreciate and enjoy watching defensive minded technicians like Floyd and even Rigondeaux sometimes, but Ward just doesn't do it for me.

I think the issue with Ward has a lot to do with how he managed his career after the Super Six. He basically hid in Oakland fighting bums and cherries in front of a handful of Friday night fans.

Then he gets gifted Kovalevs belts and acts like he is Black Jesus.

I like Andre Ward but he is just too inactive. Even when he's in the ring it's a bore fest. Otherwise he seems like a decent guy,has a little bit of a distorted image of self importance, but I guess that comes with the territory.

Like i said on the first page. It's Golovkin fans that don't like him. Just look at the replies.

Ward embarrassed the clown without even stepping into the ring and they're still butthurt.

^This right here. And I'm not a GGG fan at all and I am a big Mayweather fan though that's fully agreeing with all Sup posted. His mauling foul filled style is appalling to watch just like Hopkins before him. How anyone can call them "high IQ" when they maul and foul I never could understand. The guy is basically one handed with a weak right hand, which is pathetic for the praise that some give him. He's basically 1 dimensional too since his favorite style is to maul and hug or headbutt. He got beat by KOvalev and was gifted a decision. You use to have to actually beat the champ to take his titles... "it was a close fight doe". He acted like a damn diva when it came to negotiating the rematch even going so far as the threaten retirement. The guy has 0 star power and brings nothing to warrant his divaness. He is no ppv star and he doesn't need to act like he's owed anything at all. Because he's not gifted what he wants(except the LHW titles) he cries racism when he is the one to blame for him not being a draw and people "hating".

Ward is a dirty fighter. He rellies too much on clinching and wrestling, and has headbutted some opponents in the past.

Barrera called him a dirty fighter, so did Kessler.
Written off by some after dropping a decision to Andre Ward earlier this year, Sullivan Barrera made sure he ended 2016 on a high note. Apart from claiming the WBC USNBC title at 175lbs, the 34-year-old also upset the applecart dropping his Ukrainian rival Vyacheslav Shabranskyy three times along the way to a seventh round stoppage win last Friday in Indio, California.

He also admits he "won" by getting dirty http://www.boxingscene.com/ward-we-g...-heart--110990

If you were a fair fan you would know all of this already.

And being christian doesn't mean being good. Did you read the bible?..

Maxi you started hating Ward when he exposed the Lil G as being full of shit. Don't try and act like it's a different reason.

                  But the scales were cheated!

Don't use fallacies. Ward is not liked by everyone because he's a dirty fighter, period. Golovkin has nothing to do with this.

And the whole "I'm a christian therefore I'm a good person" story is fake as shiet. They are christians because they want more for themselves and they need their gods to justify they are ****** millionaire without feeling guilt.

Golovkin has nothing to do with it? Look at the posters hating Ward like 99% of them are Golovkin fans.

Is that just coincidence or are they butthurt because he embarrassed their hero?

Andre Ward stood on the sidewalk outside of San Francisco’s exclusive Battery Club while waiting for his driver to arrive when a fan yelled out, “What’s up, champ!” The boxing champion responded with a wave and a smile. Ward won’t be smiling when he enters the ring for a rematch with Sergey Kovalev at the […]
