I don't understand why so many people dislike Andre Ward?

I hate to break it to you, (and I certainly cant speak for all GGG fans), but I would suspect that a great many fans are like myself, and Ward simply does not matter. He doesnt really even cross our minds unless we see some dopey thread like this, and then we are reminded as to what an asshat Ward really is.

Unlike the GGG hate squad, who seem to wake up every morning with a "everything is the white mans fault" note taped to their bathroom mirror.....

I call people out all the time here for it. They make things up, pretend that he said things he didn't and then you ask them to prove it, they can't. One pathetic little weasel (which I'll keep nameless) says because he has "all black people on his team" that somehow that shows he's racist. Yet ward himself is half white lol.

They don't like him for the following reasons:
1. He punked golovkin
2. He beat kovalev
3. They know kovalev will likely lose again
4. He already beat one of their favorite fighters, and are still sore about it.
5. They believe he's a dirty fighter
6. He's #1 p4p
7. He's half black.

He comes across as a really nice & humble guy yet it seems a lot of people have a real hatred for him. Also, the guy has an extremely high boxing IQ. There's almost no other fighter outside of maybe a Mayweather & a few others that could have come back from the almost one-sidedness of the first half of the first Kovalev fight. I know a lot thought Ward lost but whether you did or not it was an extremely close fight that really either side only won by 1 point. But what exactly is it that people dislike about him so much?

Really simple explanation, his haters can't stand to see another black man atop of the sport after all the years of hurt and humiliation of Floyd being number one they put all their hopes on GGG beating Floyd as he was the closest in weight to someone who'd be able to beat Floyd at a feasible weight catch, only they never countered on Floyd never facing him and Golovkin having around his weight class who'd beat him handidly another black man, Andre Ward a guy who has carved out an impressive collection of victories himself.

It's a shame really as Ward is half white if they could just look beyond the colour of his skin and put aside pinning all their hopes on Golovkin, switching their attention to 'The Bodygaurd' Sergei Kovalev to beat Ward to stop him ascending to the top of the sport, only the body guard was not mentally strong enough to beat the immovable object he was able to drop before wilting away himself as he hadn't the endurance to establish himself a true elite like Andre and his world class coach, if only Kovalev had Hunter it would have been a fair fight I've recently been told. Oh well.

Floyd has never said he was a Christian. Ward acts nothing like that fool

Since the first fight most of the distaste has probably come from Ward's general dismissiveness of the criticism from the first fight. As though everyone should be telling him that he won the fight definitively when even he can't possibly believe that.

There is a great need for a rematch, whether Ward wants to acknowledge that or not. I'm glad that we're gonna get it.

I like Andre Ward, seems like a good guy. I just can't get into his style. I appreciate and enjoy watching defensive minded technicians like Floyd and even Rigondeaux sometimes, but Ward just doesn't do it for me.

I can respect this point of view. Ward's style is quite different from either Floyd's or Rigondeaux's, so I don't feel like enjoying the latter two requires liking the former.

1. He is a very privileged boxer. He was given home advantage for all his Super Six fight, and was even awarded points when he skipped a round in the tourney. Everyone else had to travel.

2. He sued his dying promoter, a Christian, who did everything he could for Ward.

3. Ward is a dirty fighter, and has home refs who permit him to use illegal tactics while admonishing his opponents for the slightest reason (sometimes for no reason). He hit Mikkel Kessler with obviously deliberate head butts, and Kessler's eye was damaged.

4. Hypocrisy. He pretends to be a Christian, while lying a lot and being an extremely selfish, hateful person. Calls himself the "Son of God" with a smug arrogance and an egotistical smirk. Would a real Christian deliberately injure another boxer with illegal head butts?

5. He has a feeling of entitlement. He seems to believe he's God's gift to the sport of boxing.

6. He demands all the advantages including home advantage for every fight. He's a poor sport, will use anything he can to win, because he doesn't really have world-class power, speed, and technical skills.

7. Whines and bitches about racism and all the disadvantages he's had, while being the luckiest and most privileged boxer in the world. Will not be honest about how his "arm-clamp, wrestle and clinch" style turns people off.

8. Corrupt judges gave him a gift decision in Ward-Kovalev I.

9. Ward's fans are mostly black supremacists like Robbie Barrett (aka Isaac Clarke) who hate every non-black boxer. These nasty people don't help Ward's popularity.

Golovkin has nothing to do with it? Look at the posters hating Ward like 99% of them are Golovkin fans.

Is that just coincidence or are they butthurt because he embarrassed their hero?

Or maybe Ward fans are Golovkin haters? or maybe it's because Ward insulted Golovkin? Golovkin never insulted Ward. Ward started calling Golovkin "little g" and started to say many bs against him.
Of course GGG fans would react.
