Kovalev doesn't necessarily have to "fight on the inside" to beat Ward's body. Kovalev is great at throwing hard jabs and straight rights to the body from a distance. He knocked down Agnew with a jab to the body. He also knocked down Caparello with a straight right to the belly. I also remember he got off some nice hooks to the body when Pascal had his high guard up.
If Kov quits head-hunting and throws as many straight punches downstairs as he can, he's got a great shot at hurting Ward (or slowing him down at least).
