Manny isn't even an HBO fighter right now. You think a Manny/JMM fight, without HBO support, with JMM coming off a torn biceps and both over 40, is going to do good numbers despite the fact Manny's last fights have sold 300k?

The numbers have dropped primarily because he lost badly to Floyd.
if pac vs marquez 5 doesnt do good numbers its not because floyd beat him badly, its because fans are not gonna get tricked into a snooze fest again in the super mega fight, see floyd vs berto. low ppv numbers. why did floyd ppv numbers decline too then???

I have sports radio on in the car and the national host just called the Warriors potentially going 16-0 in the playoffs the Mayweather-Pacquiao of basketball.

Everybody thinks Pacquiao won though right? One team utterly wrecking everyone is referred to as a Mayweather-Pacquiao type letdown.

I am basing that on the current evidence dude. You said he'd do it by fighting b and c level guys and build himself back up. WHen have you seen a PPV star build themselves by fighting b and c level guys on PPv fights?

NEVER. so you are giving Manny every benefit by assuming he would do something no other PPV star did and this was AFTER he would be coming off a lopsided 10-2 loss.

        Come on, use your head.

Because Broner wasn't as big a name as Manny.

Here is the point you are missing-Floyd has 2 potential fights he can make right now that will sell huge, 1 of which may eclipse floyd/Manny-Canelo/GGG winner and Conor.

          Manny can't do that.

gtfoh...those are superstar ppv #s right there that stand on their own two feet and bring leverage to the table...

and i guess floyd didn't think he was clearly #1 cause he would not have said this...

"I waited until the time was right, when things were on our terms and we were the A side and we could do things our way, "

as much as floyd loves to crow about him being the a side, he really couldn't lay full claim to the throne in 2009 apparently...

so now its because "berto" is not a big name? but didnt floyd just beat manny so bad that pac's ppv has decline because of it? and it was floyd's last fight too. why the low numbers then? you wanna sit there and act like floyd beating pac is what cause the low ppv numbers from pac but why is floyd getting low ppv also and need to go fight a ufc star to get the numbers he wants? LOL

Floyd had low numbers for berto. his next fight is not projected to have low numbers. Manny had low numbers with tim, lower with vargas, and now HBO isn't supporting the fight, which suggests the numbers will be even lower.

That is the trend you are ignoring. There is no trend with floyd's numbers.

If floyd didn't fight conor and fought the canelo/ggg winner the numbers would be high.

I am not saying those aren't superstar numbers, I am saying Floyd sold more and at a higher price. He was the clear #1 period. Frankly, to argue otherwise is ridiculous. Cotto has superstar numbers, was he as big as Manny, no.

You can interpret what he said to fit your argument, fine with me. As for my point- there is no debate as to who sold and generated more.

Of course he could, there are just people like you that somehow look at 700k for clottey and equate it to 900k for hatton. you look at the top price for a Manny ticket and equate it to the top price for a floyd ticket even though its up to a $1,000 less.

huh? wtf are you talking about. If you need to deflect rather than just admit what the numbers show so be it.
