It makes PERFECT SENSE for Ward to take the advice of his OPPONENTS TRAINER. Yep, perfect sense.

Incorrect. Ward initiated action to hold
This is false. Ward uses a strategy of lowering his head coming in low and hook low to grab Kovalev to avoid the incoming shots he couldn't deal with. Wards action made Kovalev respond to defending against the raising of the head to butt him. Kovalev kept that head locked down so Ward could butt him like he did Kessler.Comment

Consider the source
Sure. Despite there being 50 minutes of high quality video footage showing Ward clinching, and 1000 more minutes of footage showing Ward clinching in other fights, it was obviously Kovalev's master strategy of initiating the clinches, which lead to inside fighting, because he 'didnt want Ward to work on the inside'.
What a game plan! A fighter who has fought on the outside for entirely of his 8 year pro career will suddenly start clinching against a guy who's been a known clincher for those same 8 years+:
Your logic is also spectacular. It was Kovalev initiating the clinches to avoid inside fighting, which led to Ward winning because of "beautiful inside work".
It amazes me how some you fanboys try to defy reality in some of the dumb **** statements you try to make. What's next? You gonna claim that we live on Mars, breathe heavy condensates and sky is brown?Comment

Oh, I get it....you guys want the physically strongest puncher to win every contest and no one to prevent themselves from getting hit, just let your opponent hit you and see if you can take it, take defense out of boxing. And simply the physically strongest person wins everytime.....it'll be easy to gamble/bet on those contests, I guess...
Ward got outboxed by Kovalev. Kovalev much better boxer than Ward and in Russia Kovalev wasn't very skilled in amateurs. Beterbiev was the better fighter than Kovalev. Kovalev improved and now is equal to Beterbiev. I think both Kov and Beterbiev along with Gvodzick beat anyone from the USA.Comment

Both guys caught him with good shots and he started ducking below the waist and wrestling them!
Whenever he meets adversity he'll go to his well of "WWE" tactics to spoil the action and foul his opponents!
He did it against Sakio Bika and even Froch in the late rounds!
When everything is going his way he lays off a bit on the Greco Roman wrestling but seeing as how he nearly did every foul you can think of against Kov tells me he knows Kovalev is a special fighter!
He knows he cant box with Kovalev so he has to make it ugly, it's a clever strategy but obviously it turns people off and he wonders why he has a very small fan base!
This time he knows he'll have bring the fight to Kovalev which works for Krusher who can just work on his conditioning and throwing more jabs!Comment
