I dont think youre giving Wlad enough credit, he knows how to use distance effectively hence why his jab is so effective. Its not just powerful, he knows when to throw it and how to keep smaller opponents at a distance.
People overrate Ali but the fact is he struggled and lost against guys in his career whom Wlad would beat comfortably.
In his prime (60s) he fought smaller and shorter fighters, he was huge back in the day but now he would be considered a small heavyweight.
Pulling your head back and bouncing on your toes works better against shorter slower opponents, but against bigger athletic heavyweights such like as Klitscko and Lennox Lewis? Most likely not.
At least Ali was quick about it.
Vlad couldn't even handle Ross Purrity...let alone Lamon Brewster
Those two couldn't hit Ali with rice at a wedding.
Ali would clown Vlad with EASE..

Vlad KEEPS HIS FEET TOO FAR APART
Because of that...
Ali would EASILY out-flank him and fire from ANGLES all night long....
....because unlike Vlad....he wouldn't get tired.
Vlad would be exhausted by the pace alone...not to mention the non-stop punches flying in at him.
