When Floyd was "pretty boy," he was in that same realm I feel Spence will be in for sometime. He was calling out all the big names, fighting whoever wanted to fight him, making it look easy and entertaining in the ring. But he was too clean, family man, well mannered, no tattoos, great all American Olympian, an inviting smile. His great boxing and matchups still wasn't enough to propel him into superstardom. He became increasingly angry and frustrated with the business and probably issues outside of boxing.

The more he became frustrated, the more he realized that his good boy, pretty boy persona wasn't going to cut it. The end of the Golden boy era especially as American society became more and more infactuated with reality television and ratchetness. Thus the birth of money Mayweather. The perfect pairing of his change with the change in what America viewed as entertainment.

I truly believe Spence will end up following a similar path. Maybe not as extreme as money May, but Spence will get meaner and angrier (especially when he isn't given his due credit or matchups), more confident, and more entertaining. Only question is, will his persona match up with whatever cultural shift America makes again in the next 5 years. Time will tell.

I know for sure that the one with most potential to become a SUPERSTAR was Felix Verdejo without a doubt, NOW his career have been stock... but he was on his way really quick, I think he already got 300k followers on instagram lol...

From the list i say: Thurman, Spence and Joshua..

Spence - yes, high KO ratio + aggressiveness always sells

Crawford - no, barely known among casuals

Ward - no, he could win and become unified champion and defend his titles a thousand times over - his style is not entertaining, casuals don't give 2 ****s about belts and resume

Also, Mayweather's status is a blend of self-promotion, domestic background and cultivating hate among casuals. No one really remembers him for his fights. Except for his early career the majority of his fights aren't memorable.

Joshua has the best chance of any fighter currently active if being a star.
When it comes to the lower divisions wins matter. Whoever keeps winning out of the lot will reach some semblance of superstardom

                AJ isn't good enough

You can't become a star laying flat on your back

                  I like Thurman.

He's an interesting guy too. If he doesn't become a superstar it is a media issue and they haven't given him a platform.

He'd be a superstar if he was British imo. We'd love that little weirdo.

Their biggest problem is having the opponents to fight who can help them cross over to the mainstream.

Like Loma and Crawford. Top Rank seems to be one of those places where fighters make a lot of money fighting **** competition. Haymon on the other hand, doesn't have a problem throwing his fighters to the wolves.
