tarver is gonna get taken apart come fight night. and the weight will most likely be his primary excuse. of course there will be several back up excuses ready also.
The Bernard Hopkins-Antonio Tarver Weight Situation

It's still an uphill battle for Bernard, because he can't maintain a high work rate which is ultimatly what you need to beat Tarver.
This could turn into a boring chess match very easilly.Comment

** It's much harder watching you try to think. Painful even!Originally posted by pigguWhich do you think is harder on the body, Tarver moving down in weight or Hopkins moving up?Comment

The thing is, to beat Hopkins you need a high workrate as well. If this becomes a chess match, I honestly think Hopkins has a good chance of winning because I think he's the better technical fighter. Tarver has to beat Hopkins by attacking him and I don't know if he has the stamina to do that, especially if he's weight drained.Originally posted by Bozo_no noIt's still an uphill battle for Bernard, because he can't maintain a high work rate which is ultimatly what you need to beat Tarver.

Wait a minute. I just have two questions for you...Originally posted by Smokin'Sorry Diego, you're wrong. Remember how much he cried after the Glen Johnson loss and he said that he didn't train and spent too much time partying?
Or the time he said he actually WON the first fight against Roy Jones.
1) Did you score Tarver-Johnson I in favor of Johnson?
2) Did you agree Roy beat Tarver in the first fight by 116-112 or 117-111?
Tarver said he beat Johnson (most experts had Tarver winning) and that he didn't lose to Jones by scorecards as wide as the two judges had it for Roy. If you disagree with Tarver on either of those statements, I think you're an idiot. No offense.

If he's weight drained that may be so, but one thing Tarver does well is flurry with pitty patting punches while mixing in a big shot here and there.
His work rate is often above average because he flurries with a lot of light shots.Comment
