even if jdj was trying to jump ship team ward/j prince were wrong leaking this to the media. all this accomplishes is tarnish jdj reputation and character. even if he's justified leaving kovalev for disrespecting him and basically blaming him for the loss. so all this is shaping up as mind games from j prince and it's working since jdj had to scramble to respond. he has been quiet throughout this whole buildup whereas the first fight he was all over the place doing interviews. theres obvious tension within that camp.Comment

actually that's nothing new. part of boxing history. mofos send girls, paid reporters etc to opposing camps to fish out information. war tactics. He seemed like he was lieing or avoiding talking about the details. Only thing i felt was true was that he was the one called. There are half truths here, jackson probably consodered it and names his price, but it was steep, considering he'd be abondoning a fighter, probabely was expecting it to not be agreed to.
More importantly is wards teams lack of integrity, its apparantly a thing now to sabotage training camps. Ward is such a wannabe, copying floyd to a t.Comment

How the f#ck he not ask him if he told Kovalev or other Kov team people about the offer when things went down? If opposition approaches you with a deal I think you gotta say something to someone on the team. Hiding that info til the opposition leaks it is extremely telling. So for sure Team Kovalev knows the score right now if JDJ didn't tell them about this incident.
Don't know if I buy that they approached him or not. Doesn't seem like something anyone would wanna do on Ward's side. Well besides Prince who was probably entertaining swiping JDJ or having Kovalev murdered. And it seems a whole lot more likely JDJ who's already seeming like he could be fired any time since the L was shopping for a new gig.Comment

people trying to read into JDJs manner of speaking cracks me up. Ive had dinner in the mans home and he sounds exactly the same way when asking you to pass the potatoes.
As for who reached out to whom, maybe Ward has the emails to prove it. Oh, wait.......
Edit: And FWIW, I have no doubt that Wards side reached out to JDJ. However I dont believe for a second they would have actually hired him. If he would have agreed to a deal, they would have said "on second thought no thanks", and then made it all public to try and torpedo Kovalevs training camp.......
this sounds the most likely to me..... but yea, waiting for more infoComment

Don't disagree with your overall theory being plausible & maybe even the likely scenario. What gives you no doubt that JDJ wouldn't reach out to the other side doe?people trying to read into JDJs manner of speaking cracks me up. agreed
you do EVERYTHING you can
but, this is looking a bit lame to me
I have no big issue with dirty fighting inside the ring
that is what the referee is for
but there is no referee for this
lame
it is similar in principle to tampering with sparring partners
