If he mans up to fight Thurman, Spence or Crawford posters will care more and the number of comments will increase since those are fights people want to see.
    Yeah maybe.

But you got plenty of posters-too many really- ok with this...

Manny is very popular on NSB. The people that like him do not want to see him get beaten to a pulp, especially if its against someone managed by Haymon, someone associated with Floyd, or, and there is no way around this, someone who looks like Crawford.

I get that. We know that if this was any other champion they'd demand he fight the best, even if he wasn't ready (see Davis v Loma thread).

Most of the Manny fans just want him to retire and go away. They don't want him to go out like Roy Jones and I completely get that as well. They want him to go out with a win so they can celebrate it.

I don't really want PAC. to fight spence as I think floyd should Unretire and fight some of these special talents.
If PAC lost to spence flood fans would say floods never lost, pac got another loss. If floyd fought ggg or spence he'd have beat them of course though would be the comments without having to fight anyone
Floyds somehow wriggled his way out of fighting the next generations talent

Of course as a fan I don't want to see him get blasted, and I can only speak for myself, but it has nothing to do with what race/promotional affiliation/etc.

Doesn't matter who or who that fighter got ties to, I just don't wanna see him get blasted regardless lol

Naw but dude, seriously, if Manny was a few years younger, and was still fighting Horn, and some may not believe this but I'd be crucifying his ass too

Thing is, the guy is on the doorstep of 40. He's approaching 70 career pro fights. Been fighting since 1995. Nineteen-ninety-five. That's a long motherf**king time. Like I've said before there are cats on these boards that won't be able to go five minutes of full court pickup basketball at the local Lifetime fitness when they're on the doorstep of 40 without calling 911 because of chest pains. And some of these MF's were still in diapers when dude started fighting.

So look...if he wants to go sell out a 55K capacity arena in Australia and fight a guy named Jeff Horn, I get it. Do I like it? Of course not, I'd rather him be in a relevant fight that means something and not something that's seen as a farce and a joke. But...I get it. Because the guy is old, man. His age in the sport of boxing...it's freaking ancient.

Even when Lomachenko was asked about it, he's just like..."the guy is old, when you get on the other side of 31 you just get slower and slower".

I know people hate excuses but...being on the cusp of 40 and fighting professionally at the world level...that's a pretty damn good excuse

            the guy is old

Pac isn't getting a free pass for this fight. Nobody in this part of the world is excited about it, and if its on ppv nobody is going to watch. Pac and Cotto are both getting the "retire already please" treatment from boxing fans.

I don't think it does with you Mike D. But there is a group who clearly this is the issue. They want to see Manny fight and win and they know (but will not admit) Thurman, Spence and Crawford are all bad matchups for him at this stage.

In my post before the one you quoted I told the TS that the fight has gotten crapped on, the volume of responses is just lower than previously.

I agree he's old and has been at it a long time. While it is a testament to his talent (or an indictment of others talent) that he is considered by almost everyone to be one of the top 3 guys at ww, he does have a belt and as fans we want to see the top guys in each division fighting each other.

Wlad is older, he just fought someone younger because he wanted the belt back. So I get why fans do not want to see him fight thurman or Spence, but it comes down to what Manny wants. DOes he want to be WW champ or not?

If he doesn't, thats fine with me. But he it means his fights will keep getting crapped on or worse, ignored.

There are a lot of good fights at 147 potentially. Don't be so eager to see PAC fight them.
Spence v Thurman is next on agenda. Let PAC fight horn. One easy fight basically. There won't be many trust me.
PAC will retire soon anyway so why so eager when there are many ww fights to wet appetite that has nothing to do with pac

Thurman is out with an injury. If Manny beats Horn, he should fight Manny next. that is the best fight at 147 with Thurman out.

Unification. best fighting the best. Fighters staying active. all the things you've said in the past are important and need to happen.

Of course you're known as a flip flopper and goalpost mover so I am not surprised you are doing it again.

Oh yeah no doubt, Dunn. And rightfully so. I mean honestly Manny may be completely oblivious to the fact, but if he's not...I don't know how he can't be embarrassed. I mean essentially he's just whoring himself out for a few bucks at this point. If he fights again after this (which all indications are he is), and fights another lower level, third rate opponent, then it's 100% clear as can be that he wants no part of any real threats and just wants to cash in as a waning side show attraction.
