  • Im tired of anything Tyson related but I cant call him overrated. You look at him in the 80s and he was a pure machine. Tyson was lethal.

I've wondered if Cus taught him to do that?
Don’t forget Henry Tillman the other Gold Medalist he smashed Tyson was one of the greatest when Cus Amato was alive when he died he lost interest in boxing and Don King ruined him . Anyone who boxed knows Tyson had skills but turned to crap after Cus died by 1990 Tyson was trash and people lost the fear to fight him that’s why Lennox Lewis stayed amateur 4 more years to avoid him and Holyfield got Hanley to learn about steroids so he can use them on a shell Tyson

tyrell biggs will not go down as a future heavyweight great and although tyson looked sensational when beating berbick, thomas and spinks his run of glory lasted just over 3 years ..once douglas showed the blueprint he never rose to those heights again...every all time great heavyweight he faced he got beat.
And i like tyson but thats pretty much what happened

he only reason why tyson turned pro early is because he lost in the usa trials lol.....as for lewis he won olympic title and its alo on record that they shared numerous rounds sparring and lewis pretty much handled him from the 3rd round......you can blame it on cus , don king or who ever the bottom line is tyson was just not that versatile as a heavyweight and if he did not get you out in short time he became mediocre k we can talk about james quick tillis , mitch green or tucker if yiu want to really break down his record.

your proof of tyson being beaten is 3 tyson wins.

lol, a post that rips itself apart, next you are explaining how black is white.

              • His career may be overrated but as a fighter in his prime he is an all time great. Like others have said, Kid Dynamite Tyson from 85-89 goes toe to toe with any heavyweight in any era. Scary combination of power speed and footwork.

                • No, and it is quite classes to make these sort of statements many years after his retirement.

The 1980's was a very talented era of fighters Incredible talented', and the 90's was the second best heavyweight era in the history of boxing. Mike Tyson no matter which way people attempt to discredit him, was a bench mark for every single heavyweight fighter during those decades. Whether fighters had a championship belt or not, they had to face Mike Tyson. Any man that can have that sort of psychological, emotional, and political impact on a division even through all of his troubles, is not can never be overrated.

Is Jean Claude Van Damme overrated? No also.

if you read the post correctly its stating that those 3 fights were tyson hardly looking his killer best....its nothing to do with wins its just proving that tyson was not destruct abd destroy.
Need to understand the conversation before yiu jump all over it gumbo

IMO he’s anywhere from 9-12 all-time at Heavyweight and probably somewhere from 125-150 amongst the greatest pound for pound.
                      Top 50 p4p.

Problem is the turmoil from the change over to King and 4 years of his prime snuffed out in Prison ruined him mentally.

So we will never know where he would be long term. Saying he is overrated is just using keywords for click bait.
