HBO had enough of paying fighters to fight cherries.

In all honesty, the ones that cut the checks are the ones that run things.
So yes hbo and showtime run boxing in America, they have the biggest bankrolls and the only ones to afford the big money fightsComment

I agree with you in principle. However I believe that fans are killing boxing. Fans no longer appreciate boxing. They seem to only appreciate knockouts and fighters that look and sound just like them.Isn't that almost everyone's goal in business, if there smart anyway? As many problems as I have with Arum, I think he's probably the guy running his promotional most likely one should run a promotion.
The problem with boxing isn't Arum or any of the promoters per se. Its the fact that boxing works in a way to give promoters so much power. Ideally boxing should work like every other f#cking sport in the world with a goal towards bringing entertainment to fans at the highest level as often as possible. Most sports are a machine spitting out failed, old, just not good enough anymore athletes every single daywith the caliber of competition & entertainment thats required. Yet in boxing its less about the fights & more about each promotions names cuz all these promoters are like there own lil NFL.
To take the NFL for an example they put together this universe of the top 1,700 football players in the world spread out among teams in an effort to keep things as even as possible with salary caps, higher draft picks for poor teams & various other things. This keeps the machine churning out iron sharpening iron & in the US entertaining more sports fans than any other sport for a few decades at this point.
Boxing on the other hand has about a dozen major promoters who might have 3 or 4 top guys in any one division if they are lucky. And you can't just risk the value of each of those guys cuz 1 L kills your value for that big show or big PPV down the line so there isn't any upside to your risk taking with working towards other promoters as often as competition should dictate there should be. Boxing needs a central organization thats thinking about & pushing forward the sport of boxing not any particular fighter.

Told me so about what? What spot? You think Broner & Tank are competing for some sorta spot? Haymon gots like 200+ fighters under him. Broner is popular. Tank is gaining popularity every day it seems. Broner is far from becoming Danny Bonaduce any time soon & certainly not because of a L to a better fighter.Of course i know broner dude lol he gains like 30 to 40 max not 100 lol.... I just see the writing on the wall and its obvious Haymon is getting tired of Broner. They are building up Tank to fill that spot its so obvious.. i guess i will wait to tell you i told you so!
I mean ffs I still see Victor Ortiz sh^t with famous people randomly every couple months & that guy doesn't seem to have given a f#ck about boxing since Broner was top ten P4P guy. Broner isn't going anywhere either. There is a level of popularity/fame you can get that makes winning or losing matter less & Broner is at that point.
If things turn into a life disaster for him he'll just get more hits on TMZ & similar sites than he gets on other non-boxing sites. Broner is in that entertainer category already. He's more than simply a boxer. Thats what I don't think you are fully comprehending here.Comment

haymon does not have 200 fighters under him... That is another fake myth pushed by crappy boxing writers.... I bet you to name even 100 haymon fighters.... Yes broner and tank have the same fanbase and tank is taking over..... Thats why broner is so jealous of himtold me so about what? What spot? This. Tennis is my second favorite sport to Watch, after Boxing (I like individual sports). In tennis, all male players are ranked by the ATP (and the gals, by WTA), and the best play the best, often Many Times per Year. Of course, Boxing is more physically Taxing, so I dont expect each Boxer to Fight 20 Times per Year, but they can follow the model, wherein the best have to Fight the best. In tennis, for example, US Open, 128 men enter the tournament. After 1 round, there are 64 left, then after 2nd round, 32 left, etc., til we're down to 1 champ. We should have something similar, in each weight class of Boxing. So we Know, who is the best.Yes, much like professional tennis. The governing body becomes the entity that deals with broadcasters; and offers promotional companies the opportunity to make money by bidding on specific fights. It sets universal rules, ranks athletes, and determines matchups that ensure the best boxers become recognized champions.
College football now has a playoff system. We Know which team is best Each Year, no questions.Comment

We want Pacquiao vs Crawford
Pacquiao vs Porter
Pacquiao vs Thurman
Pacquiao vs Brook/Spence Jr winner
Pacquiao vs Garcia
I'd love all those match ups and so would the fans but it seems The Bobfather doesn't still get that and wants to be greedy!
Pacquiao vs Broner was on AB for the falling out!
But if he could've made Pacquiao vs Broner then why not the other welterweights?
How bout Zurdo vs Degale or one of the Dirrell bros.?!Comment

Closest I can think of was college football before (with their 500 different bowl games). But now they have playoffs, so it's better.Professional damn near anything in the sports world. Every sport works reasonably & rationally to bring the top competitors together for the sport to reach some highest level of competition type level for as much money for as many people as often as possible EXCEPT boxing I think. If there is some sport out there doing it boxing's way I gotta think its a sport much smaller than boxing is.
Its kinda insane boxing hasn't caught up with this most basic of requirements for a sport to excel at its highest level. Boxing is like the guy having a yard sale every summer when every other sport is efficiently selling there wares on Amazon & Ebay every day of the year.Comment

He is? I didnt even Know that because I hadnt seen him on TV in Years. I actually kinda liked Watching him, Years Ago. He was decent.Idek what you're talking about at this point.
Broner is a name guy. F#ck man Hector Camacho Jr is still headlining cards at whatever bs level of the game he's at last I looked. Broner isn't going to club shows or whatever anytime soon.
Broner's got a future in boxing however much of a f#ck up he ends up being or however much he sticks to the cruise control he's been on as of late with his training & boxing in the ring.
Fonfara got blasted by Joe Smith in like a round or two. Now he's fighting Adonis Stevenson again somehow. Diaz just got schooled by Crawford as expected & he'll be back on some PBC card later in the year I'd bet. Broner ain't going anywhere & "need" or don't need Broner isn't even in the equation. A L or two isn't taking Broner off of the boxing map just like a W or two didn't put him on the boxing map in the first place. Boxing can certainly change on a dime as we all know, but it seldom changes in popularity (ask Manny who got KTFO by Marquez before being in the biggest fight in boxing history) on a dime.Comment
