He's not losing to a 135lber. He's losing to Mikey Garcia.

Don't downplay Mikey. Mikey is the name people will see next to the L on Broner's record not the fact Mikey is a former 126lb & 130lb title holder & current 135lb title holder.

Why does Arum have to talk like that, with foul and low class language?

He's just mad because HBO got sick of his in-house showcase fights and asked for better matchups.

I think Bob & HBO don't get along like they used to since Nelson has been helming things. Cuz I mean come on everyone who knows anything about boxing knew that Oscar Valdez vs Marriaga fight was gonna be a fun fight so HBO not picking that up suggests this is bigger than "TV networks clamping down".

I think Bob is one of the smartest guys in the room with boxing sh^t so this outburst is saying more than he's saying. To that end I think Bob is looking to do some game flipping of his own & perhaps make a move towards the way we all know this entertainment viewing is going & thats cutting the cord & talking to someone in the streaming world. This time next year we might be talking about Top Rank Sunday Night Fights on Amazon or some such sh^t like that.
I will just say this Bob Arum says all kinds of grandiose things and plans that sound great but end up not happening because they require pain (loses) in the near term.

Steve Kim reports on those sort of things like they are happening or have a good chance of happening when in fact they have a slim chance of going down.

Now maybe in this situation it will happen because Arum is mad enough and is smart enough to see the writing on the wall so he needs to pull something out of his hat to change the game for his brand. Top Rank is a strong player but they aren't strong enough to go in on anything on their own really, because they are already on kind of an island so putting a wall up around that island is not going to help them more like imprison them.

Thats why I'm leaning more towards some sorta Amazon, FB, Netflix, Hulu streaming service kinda deal than TR will venture out on there own on with something they are doing better than most in boxing via TR TV or whatever its called, but still miles behind what the real players are doing.

I don't even think its a delusions of grandeur thing. I think thats where the market is going. I know the Macau thing has kinda cooled down, but I believe thats still a GIANT emerging market that I believe TR still has a TV show or two airing on a regular basis in + a shoe in with certain players that will help in the future if that re-takes off as I'd bet it will. But regardless of that thats not something anyone else was bold enough to f#ck with.

Plus TR has been streaming fights & selling PPV's via there site longer than any serious player in boxing. So they made a move there before other players.

I don't think its THAT crazy to think there is something real here considering the US cutting the cord more & more + the opportunity coming into play with streaming sports becoming a thing more & more + the logistics of Arum's current situation where Haymon has a solid hold on Showtime + Bob & Nelson don't see eye to eye.

Mikey is not more Famous than Maidana or Porter in my opinion.... Him coming from 135 to beat broner will make broner gain 100 pounds out of depression... Broner will not be able to liv with himself if he loses to Mikey....

I can't even debate that cuz I don't care enough, but regardless Mikey is famous enough that he's not just some random 135lber like you're trying to suggest.

Broner will gain 100lbs if he were to win lol. Sh^t Broner might have gained 100lbs since the Adrian fight. Do you know about Broner or just making conversation with me?

I mean Arum has to do something if that is the scenario, for all the thing Arum is I know he is self aware and can see the situation for what it is no matter what his roster looks like.

The problem building up any new avenue is going to be costly on his end and Arum has never really liked to invest in boxing like that. It is not like he won't invest some if he can see how it will come back to him, but investing a lot with doubt about how much returns he will get has never been his thing (and certainly not an old man strategy).

I am interested to see what Arum does really because he has to do something, but I need to see it going down to believe it is happening because I have heard the same son many times with no payoff.

HBO Boxing is run by people that don't understand the sport. Unfortunately, boxing will probably be off the network soon due to a steady stream of incompetent management appointments.

Of course i know broner dude lol he gains like 30 to 40 max not 100 lol.... I just see the writing on the wall and its obvious Haymon is getting tired of Broner. They are building up Tank to fill that spot its so obvious.. i guess i will wait to tell you i told you so!
