Who in the F wouldn't do this if they were Floyd? He is a cherry picking, duck, but you can't really criticize him for this one. C'mon, easiest opponent ever, happens to have the biggest cache, and brings in tons of numbers, and people are willing to buy this? This is a no brainer. The people that should be pissed are UFC fans. At this point, Floyd's not even an active fighter.
It's safe to say that a huge fraction of UFC fans come from or still watch WWE. Therefore some don't even know the difficulty between both sports. They probably just assume punching "power" and boxing is no different than cage fighting with 8-10 oz gloves.

Therefore, that huge fan base will hope and be intrigued by this "match" or event.

Boxing fans, surprisingly many, are literally enjoying to watch an MMA fighter say he was the face of boxing. It's like when Michael Jordan literally went to the minor leagues and played baseball only to be utterly humiliated with his stats to then returning to basketball. Difference is Jordan didn't say, "I Run Baseball..."

Trust me, most UFC fans hate this, and understand how pointless, and ridiculous this fight is. Go read the Sherdog forums. I also hate this fight, because I wanna see Tony or Khabib embarrass Conor in the cage. Not watch Floyd embarrass him.

And I could see why some boxing fans would want to watch him get humiliated, but in the spirit of competition, and paying to watch 2 elite, and top ranked boxers, this is a joke, and I'm sure most boxing fans understand how pointless this is, and how it's a money grab to exploit dumb ass casuals. Of course the Floyd brigade will buy this, and eat this up, like Floyd just beat a prime George Foreman, but we know better.

Yes but there's a big superstar platform paradox where statements have been challenged.

The problem is Conor said "I Am The Face Of Boxing." "I Run Boxing."

What is more ****** realistically? To watch such a bet or saying such claims?

Point is, Floyd nor any boxer would say "I Am The Face Of MMA."

Come on dude. Rematches sell when the fight was close or questionable. Floyd/Manny was neither. Who in their right mind would pay to see a rematch of such a lopsided fight so soon?

Now if Manny beats Thurman and the Spence/brook winner then I think people might be interested in a rematch with Floyd.

Yeah, but everyone knows that's his shtick. He has to live up to the larger than life persona, and to even make this fight remotely interesting, he has to talk crazy, and match Floyd in the ridiculous statements, and **** talking category.

Most people with common sense know the game, and know he's just being facetious. I don't even think most boxing fans, and people in the sport of boxing are actually angry at him, but just laughing, because it's just Conor being Conor. It's like Ali saying he can beat the table tennis champion of the world, just because people expect him to have that confidence, and to say such outlandish things.

I don't think so. It's more of an exhibition fight. It's obviously a mismatch as Conor has much chance of beating Mayweather as Rousey, but it'll be good to put all those MMA meatheads in their place who think boxing is just throwing punches; plus we need to get revenge for James Toney:

I have no issue with him fighting Mcgregor but I do have issue with the NSAC sanctioning it as a legit fight. Goes to show you the pull Mayweather has there and what money can do.

Oh and if you pay for this PPV you're a moron

Sure I agree, but let's agree that Ali didn't go out and get a Table Tennis license
