Sergey Kovalev is HBO's house fighter, and if the fallout talks are actually true (Kovalev backed out of a face-to-face interview [featuring two fighters who can barely stand each other] in front of a paying PPV audience that topped 1 million PPV homes and packed out closed circuit venues across the country [if the experience I had at my usual spot was any indication], with no repercussion, while Andre Ward gets read the riot act, for missing an important promo interview that will likely only get real push on YouTube [as HBO doesn't have another scheduled fight card between today and the Ward-Kovalev II PPV]), it becomes pretty clear that James Prince has no loyalty to HBO and will act accordingly.

Package bringing Ward on board with a few dates for Roc Nation (and Espinoza holding his nose to work with Top Rank when Stevenson is ready to headline his own show) and you've got the makings of a deal.

1.alvarez just said in november/dec of 2016 that his team told him dont for adonis and he took step aside money bc he elected to fight bute
2. pascal just admitted taht stevenson made him numerous offers that he turned down to fight kov
3. stevenson right after pascal admitted that that bhop did the samething
4. kovalev ducked 2 purse bids
5. joe smith just rejected the fight with adonis..

The Kovalev offer wasn't good enough. And if Duva was a real promoter she would have helped Haymon squeeze more money out of HBO, instead of playing it safe. And Hopkins is the reason why Stevenson left HBO in the first place. He was the one who ducked Stevenson for less money too.

he was a 3 time world champ.. a total of about 8 title defenses..fought the best of the best a p4p talent at his time with a wins over tarver and bhop...mix in glen johnson and tomas ad he has a pretty good res...yes he was very close..if he doesnt go to 168 he may have reigned much longer and avenged the loss to pascal..

hell he still may get in..it's not to late
