Of course he does. Doesn't do it the whole fight but he does do it, particularly now that he's older and doesn't have speed. Watch, Fonfara is going to try to manage distance and Adonis is going to start pressuring him after a while.
I think this comes down to whether Fonfara can stick to a gameplan and keep out of danger. Fonfara has talent but doesn't seem to follow a strategy, doesn't stick to boxing, which is what he should be doing.

I gotta admit, Dawson actually looked pretty damn good in his last fight until he gassed. I thought the guy was totally shot leading up to this last fight but his timing was sharp and he had a new-found slickness. I was really surprised.

i hate talkin boxing when ppl are filled with hate instead of breakdowns, knowledge of the business, rankings, and fighter status...

u're feelings and emotions really makes this sport and talkin about this sport suck...

same guys backing up wilder to fight joshua or any top hw are teh same ones who hate stevenson...what lineal titlist did wilder ko?? wat top 10 hw has wilder beat?

granted they both went to purse bid with russians and both russians found their way out...but damn stevenson's career is pooping on wilders and plenty others

your comments on dawson are on point..he didnt want to end his career...fonfara forced him out, and he had to bc dawson was there to shine..i was fuggin shocked bro

but stevenson is not a guy who falls in..he can fire off that left hand from distance in flurries..he uses range even on the front foot...late in the first fight he went to inside fighting and he won the majority of that as well..

fonfara doesnt have a shot, but it's not bc he isnt good..it's bc adonis is just too strong, fast, and actually smarter than ppl give credit for...his cornerman is the brains he just listens well imo

Lol and how did he look prior to the fight vs Fonfara? How much credit for that performance goes to Fonfara rather than Dawson himself?

Nah man that ain't how it's supposed to work. Kovalev is cleaning up his side of the aisle at HBO, fighting Ward, BHOP, and maybe Joe Smith in the future. It's Adonis job to clean out his side at Showtime by beating Beterbiev, THEN that creates the superfight between the best HBO guy and best Showtime guy. I mean, in theory the best would just fight the best, but given the current situation and how Adonis ran to Showtime in the first place, that would be the best way to salvage the situation

Or, if Adonis is too scared to fight the top guy at Showtime, Beterbiev, maybe he should fight Gvozdyk instead, since Kovalev and him train in the same gym and don't really want to fight each other. If Adonis could fight Gvozdyk and beat him, then it would solve the problem of Kovalev having to fight his stablemate.

But absolutely, Adonis needs to do his part and fight at least one top guy himself to build up the fight vs Kovalev-Ward winner. The only fights I want to see Adonis in at this point are against Beterbiev and Gvozdyk. Joe Smith is also a fun little fight where Smith has a puncher's chance, but same as Stevenson, Smith has never beaten a true top 175 either, so a fight between two guys who have never beaten anyone is not that interesting. Beterbiev vs Stevenson would be a great fight between two huge light heavyweights. Why hasn't that fight been made before Stevenson gets old? They are going to ruin another potential great matchup by watching both guys get old without ever fighting anyone. WTF PBC! WTF!!!

dawson was close to hof status dude..u think he just forgot how to fight bc u want to believe he did?

u think he wanted to lose again and be out of a career at only 34?

u act like the man lives in a damn wheel chair..he's a fighter been one his whole life...if he lives and sleeps boxing there is nothing to say that his career is over now..

u give fonfara credit bc dawson was looking great AGAIN..AND HE STAYED THE COURSE AND GOT HIM OUT OF THERE...dawson was sharp af..it's simple as that..2 ppl have told your hard headed arse

To all my boxing bros with twitter accounts, please start putting the pressure on. Tell the powers that be that the fans want to see Stevenson vs Beterbiev, or Stevenson vs Gvozdyk. No more cherry picks. Stevenson-Fonfara II is better than most the crappy fights Stevenson gives the fans, but it's nothing that exciting on merit. Where the fook is Stevenson-Beterbiev? That's what I want to know.

MAKE STEVENSON VS BETERBIEV ALREADY WTF PBC WTF! THEY'LL BE PAST THEIR PRIME SOON AND YALL WASTED THIS GREAT MATCHUP! MAKE THE FIGHTS ALREADY!
