LETS GO CHAMP!!! Shannon can't resist taking photos without his shirt on if cameras are around. Bowe looks like he may have lost some weight though, good to see.

Two washed up old hasbeens. I still remember the Byrd vs Oqendo fight. The biggest robbery I have even seen. Oqendo won that fight 9 rounds to 3 but Byrd was given the decision

I think the winner has a mandatory WBA regular john scoobie doo title defence against WBA #3 Ustinov. Then the winner of that has 20 months to take his shot at the real WBA champion. What a joke...lol

This will get the WBA 1 step closer to having one champion. This gets rid of either Briggs or Oquendo in their title picture. This is actually the WBA #4 & 5 guys fighting with the winner then having to face #3 Ustinov. I hope Briggs wins just so we can see him fight a couple of decent HWs instead of feasting on trialhorses. Oquendo & Ustinov would be his best opponents since Klitschko put him in the hospital. Briggs brings entertainment with his name. Oquendo doesn't have much flair to him at all. I don't mind watching older HWs fighting each other but I don't think it should be for a fake title. There are plenty of 40 something HWs out there.

This is where boxing has landed these days.
Some one always ask if the current times in the sport matches other era's from 30 to 70 years ago?
Well here's part of the answer, there's actually a "title" involved?
The two biggest names in the sport for the past 15 years fought last year and it was the biggest disappointment of all time. Boxing has been made into an "entertainment spectacle" now! Translated means no one puts their ballz down.
Their entertainers instead of real fighter performing in the art of boxing.

Henry Armstrong would kick the hell out of anyone from 130 to 147, and Sugarman would destroy everyone from 154 to 175. Koval stops and slows down because he has no motor not because Ward is a good puncher. Ward uses gym tactics to make the light heavy champ look like an amateur.

There's 10 quality men today there used to 5 in every division years ago.

You can't miss what you don't know!

Is this for the regular title? Is not Joshua still the "Super" WBA heavyweight champion? I guess having these two senior citizens get some time is ok if it is the "Mini-Me" title.

Ortiz has been the #1 contender for a long time. Who does he have to pay for some time? Will he be sidelined and made to fight for the Mini-Me title against the old guys?

The WBA as of March had BJ Flores as their #11 heavyweight contender and Guillermo Jones as #15.

Regardless of what heavyweights you back it is hard to say "WBA" with a straight face.

At 45 Joe Louis was like pro wrestling and fighting in basements. At least these two get to keep their dignity and fight for a living.

I won't watch this idiocy but hey more power to them..
