US has a ****ed up PPV system.
You got Crawford-Postol doing what 50k? Maybe if the PPV cost $22 dollars like in the UK (19.95 euros), you'd have a much higher buyrate and more viewers, and actually more revenue.
50k*$60 = $3mill
150k*$22 = $3.3 mill (conservative #)
Arum said he lost $100k on TC-Postol..well putting the fight almost 2x cheaper would've gained $300k more in PPV rev (with my example) and Arum would not have lost $100k.
Now let's say Americans really took a liking to the $22 dollar price tag and more of them would've bought it, like let's say 250k people * $22 = $5.5 million
What does HBO have to lose in at least trying it out once? Canelo vs Chavez Jr is $70, while the PPV will sell well, let's say 700k, if it was $22 it would sell like Mayweather-Pacquiao due to the large Hispanic community in the US who aren't willing to pay $70 and instead gather around one TV in groups of 20-30 and pay for food and drinks.
