Floyd has been stripped or vacated belts in his career because he used his leverage as the A side refusing to let any belt org tell him who and when he has to fight. This same WBC let Floyd go 2 years without facing the WBC 154 mandatory after he won their belt at catchweight just like Canelo. So has Pacquaio, Cotto ect. These fighters are all bigger then any belt. A young fighter who just wants a shot to become champ has to follow their rules. But these guys won numerous belts and reached a status where winning or keeping 1 belt at the cost of millions is just ******. If any 154 tried to use the WBC to force a purse bid Floyd would of dropped the belt too like he has other belts. You want to fight Floyd/Canelo/Cotto/Pacquaio you agree to their terms and make the fight you don't try and get the WBC to force the fight on the B sides terms.

Canelo is making 20m this weekend in a fight that has NOTHING to do with GGG. It's simple what happened the B side tried to use the WBC as leverage to gain weight and money split advantages something that NO PPV star like Canelo or Floyd would ever allow. Imagine a non ppv B side ever telling Floyd what the terms of their fight will be. Canelo, Floyd, Pacquiao, Cotto are all bigger then any belt. They have all vacated belts and reached a PPV status where if you want to fight them you have to negoatate and agree to their terms or NO fight. It's as simple as that. GGG tried to use the WBC to force a purse bid to get terms he didn't deserve. And only an idiot would give up the millions over a ****** belt.
Hey it's his business what he wants to fight for. He knows his financial situation better than any of us. I don't think he is hurting for money. He has endorsements and I read somewhere he gets 5 million per fight in international broadcast rights. Whether that's true or not I'm not sure. Canelo lucked out by having red hair or he would be just another good fighter without a title. As far saying you don't try to dictate terms that's ludicrous. In negotiations you always try for the best deal you can get. If you can gain an advantage.

Sounds like there is a willingness to make the fight happen. Good news.

Exactly it's a business so if that is GGG stance then shut up and stop name dropping Canelo stop begging to fight Canelo and just do your own thing and make the 2m paychecks he gets per fight and make whatever faily tale endorsements he gets in Kaza phuk stan. Canelo making more money, not fairy tales and selling PPVs with or without GGG. He is set to make 20m this weekend and Chavez is guaranteed to make more fighting Canelo as a B side then GGG has ever been paid for a fight. So if GGG wants to turn down that money trust me every other fighter 2 weight classes above or below Canelo would all kill for a fraction of the money GGG has turned down.

Canelo was in the same situation with Floyd and other fighters early in his career and gave sacrifices to make big fights. GGG refuses and tries to have his fans cry and make justifications for why a man who can't sell PPVs is worth more then 15m. Why a man who has screamed 154 or 168 for half a decade but killed big fights outside of 160.

he had his chance to unify the division and decided the canelo payday was more important, basically he puts him self on a position where now he needs to bend for canelo or else he gets left out in the cold again... that should tell you pretty much who is calling the shots... oscar says no june fight, k2 says no problem we wait...

Nobody wanted Canelo v Smith but Canelo thought that fighting for a belt would justify running away from the MW belt and saying he's not a MW.

Suddenly he can fight higher than 160 like this weekend and will drop his 154 title now he doesn't need it.
Well I can't argue there isn't likely selective reasoning going on with Canelo's side that's probably the only thing going on here. But the reality is he doesn't need a belt at this point in his career & a guy with his following could never fight for another belt in his career & likely never not be considered a top guy as long as he kept a halfway decent or better schedule of opponents.

And personally I've been a fan of some guy like Canelo or Floyd or Manny in the past tossing all the f#cking belts to devalue the 4 belt regime even more than its devalued itself so its a bit of a dream that's unlikely to come true situation here for me lol.

Why pay for WBC title twice..... I wouldn't either

When you already won the WBC I wouldn't pay the WBC to hold the title twice in the same weight class I've already won it. What would be the point of that? Paying them a huge sum in fees. Canelo will fight GGG at some point because he has very few options for big lucrative fights after Chavez.

Someone please give this dude a reality check and remind him that the world of boxing does not revolve around him. Floyd had obligations during his court cases and guess what he lived up to them. You can't go on and on talking about being the A side and how all of your opponents have to do what you want them to and act the way you want them to and then also complain about the commissions not giving you what you want. Welcome to the real world, your personal issues have nothing to do with business or the sport. THEY KNEW THEY HAD 15 DAYS, IT WAS A RELEASED AND PUBLIC DOCUMENT.
