Canelo flexing his muscle. The WBC may win the message board battle but they are going to miss out on a lot of money if Canelo sticks to his guns.

I don't think Canelo gave up the belt to duck GGG....correct me if I am wrong but since when has any sanctioning body made a current World Champion from a different organization in the same weight class their mandatory challenger? As far as I know most if not all sanctioning bodies drop a fighter in their ratings once that champion is crowned by any other of the Major alphabet Organizations....WBC made GGG the mandatory and pushed that fight because they know it's a big money fight and they will Be collecting some serious money in sanctioning fees. To me they are not doing it to better the sport but to line their pockets from this fight too.Comment

This ***** just prove what a fraud he is. The only reason I hope he beats Chavez is to see GGG being the one who destroys him. He has no word no class. A modern Mexican.
This ***** forgets that his fight against Cotto was allow with the condition he would fights GGG next. Immediately!Comment

GGG won the WBC interim title back in 2014 (vs Rubio) and was mandatory since then! He waited 2 years and both Cotto and Canelo knew MONTHS before even their fight that the winner will HAVE TO FACE GGG next.Comment

For the record, I think Team Canelo is avoiding a GGG showdown. If not avoiding, they're putting it off as long as possible. That said, Canelo has a point. A fight of that magnitude isn't as simple as, "he's the mandatory, you have 15 days to make it happen." The standard 85/15 split, or whatever it is isn't gonna work. At the time, Canelo had never competed as a full fledged middleweight, so their was a weight issue. And several other things that had to be ironed out.
This soap has basically become Floyd-Manny Lite. And just like With Floyd and Manny, folks tool hardline stances on who to blame. When in fact, there's blame to go around on both sides. Canelo shoulders a lot of the blame for acting like a diva. But GGG shoulders blame in not wanting to bend as the clear B-side. I'm not saying its right. But Canelo has caved into demands when he was the B-side in order to make big fights happen. He basically allowed himself to be dictated to by Cotto, and Canelo is probably the bigger star of the two. GGG's unwillingness to bend as the B-side shoulders some of the blame. Because of GGG simply complies to the catchweight demand, Canelo doesn't have an out, if that's what he's looking. Very similar to how Manny could have complied to the stricter drug testing long before he did. Floyd and Canelo might very well have been, and in Canelo's case currently is looking for an out. But GGG, much like Manny, is making himself very easy to avoid. Especially when the dialogue has always been that GGG is a small middleweight that can easily make 154.Comment
