All those guys u mentioned except Collazo (who is trying to fight hatton for the rematch ) didn't want to fight Tony. You might as well add De la Hoya to the list cus he too openly said he wouldnt fight him.

Dont get me wrong I think Margarito vs Mitchell is a pretty crappy matchup just like when floyd fought him but dont act like there is all these name fighters trying to fight him because there simply isnt.

Floyd isn't ducking Hatton, and Hatton isn't ducking Floyd. Unless one of them loses, that fight will be made.

As for Tony-Mitchell, i think Mayweather is anxious to see this fight to see how well his type can deal with Tony. If Shamba pulls it close, Floyd will know he'll win, because Floyd is Shamba X10. If Shamba can't handle it, Floyd will think twice before taking the fight.

As for the Margarito side of it, well, i can't blame him for taking this fight - he's called out Floyd, Judah is suspended, Hatton and Collazo just fought, Mosley and Vargas are fighting. Who else is there? In terms of welters, Shamba's not a bad fight considering it's a 'keep busy till you get a big fight' typa thing.

so would i. well...if he fights someone of a lower caliber for less money then i would blame him, but not if he fought hatton or mosley for big bucks.

Heres what we know. Floyd openly offered to come to manchester and fight Hatton. Floyd has called out Hatton on numerous occasions.
Hatton is still standing by his "3 fights in order to become more popular" plan.

I think that it is hilarious how on a boxing forum, so many of you are clueless about how boxing actually works. 9/10 times a fighters camp and managers make the final decision about who they fight. Fighters blah, blah, blah all day long about "I'll fight this guy and that guy" but rarely have the final word when it comes to making a fight.

Margarito has never endeared himself to the top promotion or management guys so it has always been harder for him to get fights. Other guys in the top ten have management carefully selecting opponents, either lining up big paydays or select guys to protect them for the big payday. Therefore, Margarito is forced to look outside the box to a fighter like Mitchell, who has fallen to washed up veteran status.

How could he be "acceptable" when his "acceptable" days were about a shade under ten years ago?

                  That makes no sense whatsoever.

This fight is strange and Tony is just going to knock him out fast.

of course with lesser name fighters.... of course the fighter doesn't call the shots, but at the elite level, you best belive its the fighter calling the shots. after all its the fighter who makes the money off his sweat, bruises and he life on the line for every fight.

delahoya always fought top fighters, hopkins fought whoever he wanted, floyd fights who he wants to fight, marquez chose to fight chris john, morales, barrera, all these fighters say i want to fight so and so and its done or to the best ability of their managers who try to get the fight the fighter wants or they don't fight. you know the storys of the past, floyd chose to fight patterson, frazier chose to fight foreman, ali chose to fight leon spinks. and so on.

we know how it goes, and with margarito, to be honest, margarito yet doesn't have enough pull to fight who he wants to but arum is trying to get him the best avialable oppoent he can find. after all, cintron was supposed to defeat margarito, and diaz was also supposed to defeat margarito.

exactly. so what is tony trying to prove? Why not put somebody in there who is you and will fight back. Doesnt have to be a big name just somebody who will fight back.
