The fight was stopped on time. Referee gave some time to Vlad: he wiped his gloves, drove away Anthony – this is time. Do not forget about two knockdowns and this hard uppercut in the 11th round.
Antony acted like big robot he has to make smth with his defense or he will be disassembled.

    • Klitschko has had a great career & he is a first ballot hall of famer. He put on a great fight but I think he will retire. 2 losses in a row to Fury & Joshua. 2 totally different fighters who are much younger than him. There is a new generation of HWs taking over. Joshua showed some stuff tonight but I don't think he is guaranteed to beat Wilder or Fury. I'm curious to see if he will fight Ortiz or Pulev next. Both are mandatories but WBA might grant Joshua a voluntary. I guess we will see what is next.

      • Props to Joshua for showing heart and composure, also for proving that his power lasts into the championship rounds. As much as I despise him, Wlad deserves respect for being aggressive, taking the fight to the bigger, stronger, younger fighter and following a good gameplan of using some mobility and a jab to keep Joshua guessing, and using that right to keep him from rushing in. Dunno how he took that uppercut without his chin shattering, Amir Khan style.

        • whats great about this current heavyweight era is the fact they all look vulnerable and beatable but I still think a focused in shape fury is the best of this lot he makes a fight look easy when he wants to use his skills but he got clipped by a blown up cruiser so he has question marks too that make you wonder if that was wilder or joshua that put him down

huge respect for Wlad tonight what a champion

          • Great fight.

Joshua is now twice the fighter he was yesterday.

Otherwise i agree with you. But still i think if Wilder catch him with any of his bombs AJ is going down. Only thing that is really really bad for wilder that he will be 20 pound lighter than AJ, but on the other hand Wilder never gets tired and he pops out that one two combination every second. Wlad threw that right hand 3 round per round wilder throws it 15 times per round.
The amount u throw is in accordance with the level of competition - from Boxing 101

If Fury does ever fight AJ it would be very interesting. Fury is by far a better boxer (as was Wlad today) but Joshua carries that type of power that just KO's you whenever it hits clean. All depends if Tyson can make AJ as tentative as he made Wlad, if he can he'll win easy.
I get this but Fury isn't as slick as people say he is imo. I saw Cunningham drop him with a left hand that wasn't anything special. I think AJ would KO him. This kid is hard to dance around for 12 rounds. I think Wilder and Ortiz have better chances because they won't try to box for a decision against AJ. Fury would.

I agree. I don't expect to see those bull**** premature celebrations anymore. This is the second time (Whyte fight) that caused him to get caught and gas.

                  • This was like the good old days. Two fighters giving everything and the fans getting more than there moneys worth. Bravo both guys. But especially bravo joshua, who can become a hw legend. Its all in his hands now.

                    • That was one of the great heavyweight fights. AJ steps up. He'll of learnt a lot from this fight, especially not to expose his chin - needs to be more fleeting.

                      A great, great fight!

Watched the Sky coverage, looking forward to watching the Showtime and HBO coverage.
