It's a bit weird, last year they were making a case why what he's doing at the age he's doing it is actually a good pace for him and even brought up Hopkins as an example what Hopkins had done by the same age (which I actually agreed with them on that front). People called Hopkins old at 35 but that's actually where his second wind started. I agreed that GGG's age could be a "young" 34 (at the time) because he hadn't gone through absolutely any war and his style is methodical.
I still think GGG is a very good fighter and his 35 is a young 35. The way he looked vs Jacobs was not slippage or age, it was simply that he fought a better fighter than he expected and that us fans expected, and a fighter with good power and physical attributes who used those attributes to his advantage. GGG is capable of going in there and blasting any other MW in 2-3 rounds. It just didn't happen with Jacobs, that's not slippage.Comment
