he had a competitive fightWe were telling you this milking process all along in 2015-2016, but the same fanbase swore like a YouTube comments community that Gennady had the right to want all the belts. So if Gennady still wants to pursue the WBO past 2018, would you guys still say he is old? Didn't you guys say BHop was old campaigning at 160? How far did Bhop go past 40?
Would Golovkin face a guy like Kovalev at Bhops age or at least move north? Or is he old? Wait what?
Don't you want your dude to take on Ramirez? If Gennady magically does well against UK fighters or sells out a Wade fight... then don't you think Ramirez makes "financial sense" now at 168? The Champ? If he can't get the 160 WBO then why not the 168 WBO?! History will write that Gennady couldn't get the WBO at 160 but BoxRec shows he went and got at 168?!
Damn, dropping knowledge...
excuses fly
its easy to look like an all time great, when youre an A class fighter, fighting C Level guys with the occasional B thrown inComment

Hopkins was able to endure into a ripe age due to several factors. Conditioning, no amateur career other than prison, and his style of fighting which is risk averse and a lot of clinching when the pressure is on.
Gennady had about 350 amateur bouts, which takes a toll on any fighter's body. One thing fans often overlook is that fights can age a boxer even quicker than birthdays. And a fighter can age overnight. Personally, I think all this talk of him showing signs of age is premature. He still seems prime to me. He had a competitive fight with a bigger opponent who is no slouch.
I don't see where moving to 168 does anything for his bank account or his legacy. Ramirez? Nothing special. Hagler and Monzon sealed their legacies as ATGs while dominating one weight class. If GGG can get a few more substantial wins under his belt he can be considered an ATG as well. But, he has to beat Canelo, rematch Jacobs, and I'd say Charlo, before I would bestow that honor on him. Honestly, I don't see him beating Charlo.Comment
