I'm pretty all American posters on here picked Portert o beat Brook, even called it by KO.

Make a poll of who likes which American fighters if you just wana know who loves the same fighters you love.
You incompetent dolt, THE ENTIRE POINT OF THIS THREAD is that Americans don't root for their own. That was the crux of my post, if you had even a modicum of brain cells you would have understood That.

    I'm still waiting mother****er!

No foreign fighters were stars in the 90's. It was all African American and latin fighters that were at the top of the sport. A dude from khazikstan would get no love in that era.

Plus roy, toney, and hopkins would have kicked his ass

I could root for "Americans" 99 times out of 100, but after a single instance of rooting for somebody from a non-United States country, I would be criticized by posters on this board for "not rooting for Americans."

What about fights between two non-Americans? Should American fans root for the guy whose home country is a stronger ally of the United States?

For example, rooting for a non-American against a Britisher would be un-American, because the UK is a close ally of the US.

        It's all absurd.

Pretty convenient to preach about unity and patriotism when it is to your benefit.

I support fighters who give me a reason to support them.

If Adrien Broner was fighting cancer, I'd cheer for cancer.

Last American fighter that most of America was behind and loved was probably Ray Leonard. Ray was the Total Package probably the last Total Package in boxing. Ray also fought EVERYBODY and his fights was entertaining IN THE RING

America wants a BAD ASS, they want another Tyson, they want a FIGHTING CHAMPION and not a Diva, they want that guy who will take on all comers, no Diva stuff no excuses but will take on whoever call his name and go out and beat that dude ass

I think Spence Jr CAN be that type of guy who has that mentality! Spence Jr Buzz is pretty big right now I do see a ton of Americans getting 100% behind him going into the Brook fight! Sadly that is making some people unhappy and starting to be negative towards Spence Jr because they see that people are getting behind him for the Brook Fight but *** those people who cares. I want to see Spence Jr delivers because I think American Boxing NEEDS that shot in the Arm!

America has a lot of major sports when most countries only other major sport is soccer, we got the NFL, NBA, and MLB all major sports wth huge followings and then NHL and MLS and even UFC which is based in vegas. A lot of competition between other sports here, then you take in the account that Floyd turned off a lot of casuals with his style and that's where we at right now.

But it is going up again the Thurman Garcia fight did great numbers.

I really don't care where a fighter is from, I like fighters for their style (I appreciate a lot of different styles)and/or personality. Being that this is a big country, I'm not going to automatically root for every fighter from here just because they are American. I support lots of American fighters and lots of fighters from anywhere and everywhere else.

Why root for a boxer simply because he comes from the same country as you? I can overlook a lot of things, if a fighter has a style I like. On the other hand if a fighter has a style that I wouldn't cross the street to see, I wouldn't care if he was born on the 4th of July.
American fans are different. I grew up in NYC, you'd be amazed at how many people from the City hate the Yankees. lol
The more we can get away from bias against the "away" fighter, the better for boxing as a sport.
Brook comes to the US and wins a close decision against the US fighter. Who thinks Spence has a chance of winning a close fight in the UK?

It is interesting I was thinking about current it at least recent champs...

Does America have white American champs or contenders that aren't Latin or euro descent. Not including relocated eastern euros, or Italian American or Irish American who need their retrospective boxer friendly country heritage to get a decent following..

UK has lots of home grown white brits who have done very well for this small island

                    Hw- tyson fury
Cw- Tony bellew, he's mixed a bit like myself, a bit black, etc etc, but there's majority white.
                    Lhw- Nathan cleverly
Smw- a great Brit division, groves soon, but theres froch and calzaghe
                    Mw- Billy Joe Saunders
                    Lmw - Liam Smith recently
                    Lww- Ricky burns recently
                    Lw- Flanagan and recently crolla
                    Sf and below.. Frampton recently

Does Joe Smith Jr now have a big following? He's the only top contender/champ off the top of my head who could be most 'relatable' (if we're going down ethnic/national lines) to white Americans
