I've actually wondered about this for a while as well. You would expect nearly every pro fighter to at least be able to throw a good jab but even that doesn't happen sometimes.

It's all about comfort. When you get used to a certain style and certain habits you get comfortable and you don't really want to change anything. It's very rare when a fighter does do everything right. Right now I think Ward, Lomachenko, Mikey, Crawford, Rigondeaux, Thurman, Golovkin and Canelo are the best well-rounded fighters. that's a little bit of fighters if you think about it. I also think that Joshua is underrated, we will see more of his skills on display vs Wlad and he will get more recognition for his abilities though.
Such as decent head movement jab, fighting backwards, latteral movement etc.....
I'd say because they are not trained to do so. Trainers have fallen off a great deal. So much knowledge has been either lost or flat out ignored in the past few decades.
