[QUOTE=Motorcity Cobra;17594129]Kinda makes me wonder what kovalev's people were like when they were the "A side" and what those negotiations were like compared to these.
They wanted Ward to come to a press conference less than a week after he'd just fought. Nobody does that. That shows you how difficult they were to work with.
I believe he's a tough negotiatior but he always gets his way and he always gets good fights. If being difficult to work with means a resume like his then more fighters should be difficult to work with instead of easily accepting bums

[QUOTE=Motorcity Cobra;17594129]He must be indeed if he's worked himself into the position he's in without being a real draw or having a big fan base. Ironically, some of the so called "bums" he's managed to face on hbo airwaves for the kind of money he got for it proves your point.Kinda makes me wonder what kovalev's people were like when they were the "A side" and what those negotiations were like compared to these.

Why is Ward obsessed about being the A side? He isn't a ppv star. He isn't some major draw either. This guy is a damn diva... somebody needs to tell him he isn't Floyd, Canelo, or Pacquiao. This KOvalev fight and the last should've been on normal HBO. It's only ppv because of people wanting too much $. Duva might be hard to work with but I believe Ward and his team are worse.Comment

nothing "insightful" about it. The first fight contract outlined the parameters of the rematch.
But of course Ward has a history of getting amnesia when it comes to what was agreed in prior contracts, so there has to be all the drama where he either sues someone 3 times (and loses 3 times), or threatens to retire if his "new" conditions arent met.
Whats really amusing though is that since Roc is the lead promoter, Duva has nothing to do with Wards guarantees. Thats between him and Roc......
lol....terry trekas back at it
"parameters"....as youve said....that doesnt mean everything is set in place and everything is agreed to
how does one have an iron clad/finished contract on bout number 2 before bout number 1 even takes place? do factors like ticket sales, sponsorships, ppv sales etc not have a say in the rematch contract? or they just go blindy into some final contract for a 2nd fight before the results of a first fight have taken place?
what kind of business would that be?Comment
