dam, so many so called boxing fans, still hung up about a fight that happened 6 months ago - really... the racial undertones, really??? a cat that hasn't lost since 12 being scared of a guy he went 12 rounds with??? ive been a member of this site since 2008... 1400 posts...i see cats that have been on here since 2013 with over 20,000 - get yo weight up, make your post count not that jibberish monkey see monkey do bs!! dude lost, he is now making crazy excuses - saying he over trained for the Chilemba and Ward fight - i remember in an interview that he was all over the place in Russia seeing family and friends and also trying to get everyone tickets.... support the skin shade you chose and ignore the facts, facts always come back to bite even the most delusional bias FANS!!!! 90% of the hate against this cat is so made up - i just dont like how he fights, i dont like his attitude..and i guess you do not like a winner - i remember when Mayweather beat Manny and there were fans on here actually saying i dont count that as a loss to Manny so monkey see and monkey do for Kovalev, you dont have to admit he lost, let boxrec and his official record do that for you - all this BS for a man that can defend himself - i see cracks in the armor - for real!

Most boxers will NOT admit they lost whether true or not. If you remember Tim Bradley when asked if he won the first fight with Manny kept saying I won 8 rounds to 4 and kept repeating that **** that I just tuned the fool out.
That said, I'm a fan of Ward, he cleaned out the 168 division before and after the Super Six tournament. He did beat the cream de la cream guys of the division. And he made it look easy. He beat Chad Dawson easily and I thought that was going to be a tough fight for him.

Ward is a hustler. He knows how to adjust just like Floyd although for me there is none like Floyd.

The fight with Kovalev was close. Very close. I scored the fight for Kovalev because of the knock down. Take that way and I see a split decision in favor of Ward. Here's the thing though, Kovalev is underrated in terms of his skills. He is not like GGG. He's got a pretty good boxing acumen and I will bet on him beating Ward and NOT because I dislike Ward. I see a Tarver-Jones II playing out here but a late KO or knocked downs. Ward will not be cautious like the last time.

dropped in the 2nd
outjabbed and out landed in every round (bar 1)
fights on the backfoot for the majority of the fight, bullrushing in with his head

mrs kovalev is that you. he was dropped in round 2 then save for round 10 kovalev never landed a clean shot again and before "HE DIDNT NEED TO" charging forward and losing on the inside and failing to land more than 5 punches (most of those even being partially blocked) doesnt win you the fight. Ward got dropped by Kovalev, he knows what that man's power is all about - Ward and Mayweather stay dressed down in Dfense, they do not poke fun at their Dfense - he will not get hit like that in the rematch - Krusher surprised Ward with the punch he hit him with, it was a punch you could tell he was working on because he knew what Ward's move was going to be and the punch was waiting. That is why he never caught him with it later in the fight because Ward made the adjustment - the punch was designed for a certain move Ward likes to bait his opponent in with, so many wrinkles and nuances but boxing is very similar to Basketball - every team makes its run, but once they go cold or you call the timeout - you make the adjustment and make them beat you another way! Ward made his adjustment and Kov couldnt make one for the duration of the fight...
