Can't rematch a guy who isn't active. Quillin is on the shelf. You're missing the point though...the guy who won is willing rematch the loser. Doesn't seem to be the case with Golovkin Jacobs.

When interviewed Quinlin said he wanted a rematch. Jacobs said he's open to it.
No rematch happened.
When interviewed Jacobs said he wanted a rematch with G. After the fight G said he was open to it.
No rematch appears to be in the works. I'd say the two situations are the same. So what's your point?

Quillin seemed to disagree with the stoppage until watching the replay during his SHOWTIME post-fight interview.

“That’s right on the temple,” Quillin said. “In the moment you don’t know what happens until you see it in the replay.

“This is a time you sit with your family and figure out what you have to do.] I have a lot of options, maybe a rematch is the best option.

“I can’t think of a better person to lose to than Danny Jacobs.”

It definitely shouldn't happen 6 fights later, that's complete horsesht. 1-2 fights(canelo+saunders). Abel is a piece of sht, no one likes him for a reason.

Amazing how fighters like GGG get no pressure. Fighters like Floyd, Andre, and Marquez get all the pressure into rematching close fights and even after beating them again, they still get hate.

The title of the thread says "3 or 4 fights down the road," the body of the story ends with "5 or 6 fights down the road." Translation: Jacobs is never getting a rematch!

I saw the article before.. Yes he admitted he lost. I never disputed that. Personally I would like to see a rematch between Jacobs and Golovkin. Before the fight during the press conferences it was mentioned often that there was no rematch clause. I noticed it because it seemed to be unusual that it was mentioned by the Golovkin team numerous times. Danny knew this going into the fight. He is not actively perusing a rematch and he seems to have accepted it. Criticising Golovkin about the rematch seems unfair because Danny was fully aware going in that this was a one time fight.

it took damn near 6 months to negotiate the first fight, and that was even with the threat of a purse bid looming. Can you imagine the nonsense trying to deal with these clowns again? Aint nobody trying to go through that garbage........

The parameters are already set; it apparently took 6 months for K2 to finally see what the split should be to begin with.

Run back the original deal; 60/40 Golovkin on the guaranteed money, Jacobs gets his personal sponsors and a hypothetical upside on the fight (above 250k PPV buys), Golovkin keeps the Germany/Russian/Kazakh TV money, and Jacobs/Golovkin split the UK and Mexico/Canada/Latin America TV money.

Details need to be hammered out, but there's no reason to act as if there isn't already a negotiated framework in place to look to for reference.

3. Duties of Contestant. Contestant will use his or her best skill and ability, at such times and places as may be required by

contest of unarmed combat and also give exhibitions of unarmed combat, training and training exercises, whenever and wherever
required by Manager, in such places of public entertainment and/or amusement, and in such cities, towns and other places, without
limitation, where Manager may from time to time request or direct. Contestant binds himself or herself and agrees to faithfully
fulfill, and live up to any agreement entered into on his or her behalf by the Manager, during the term of this agreement.
Contestant agrees that he or she shall not, during the continuance of this agreement, take part in any contests or exhibitions of
unarmed combat, or act or perform or otherwise exercise Contestant's talent in any manner, or place, how or whatsoever, without

exercising as Manager shall require, and shall proceed and travel, by any means of conveyance as and when required by Manager
for the purposes of this agreement.

Don't know exactly what Golovkin's contract says but I
I doubt he has total control.
My problem is the Saunders Canelo situation and the I want all the belts talk. It sounds like G and management aren't on the same page.

Why are Jacobs fans complaining about this? The longer GGG takes to rematch Jacobs, the older GGG will be, while Jacobs will still be in his prime. The only fighter this benefits is Jacobs. If he wanted two shots at GGG earlier than this, he shouldn't have waited two extra years to fight GGG in the first place.

Golovkin is 35 years old, and his March fight with Daniel Jacobs has him in the shape that he's likely not even stepping into the gym again until May, if that.

To pretend as if Golovkin even has another 5 fights in him is hilarious.

Abel Sanchez is pushing the timeline out to when Golovkin is basically retired, ducking the Jacobs rematch in a backhanded way.
