Yeah he's bitter that Oscar whooped his ass twice and he did quit on his stool but him being a b itch?? Far from it! He's a living legend and if your Mexican you would know that.
Also he was way past his prime when he fought Oscar and already involved heavily with drugs and alcohol. Not an excuse for quitting but by that time he had accomplished so much that I think he stopped caring about boxing and wasn't putting in his full effort into Boxing. Nonetheless I can look past that and consider him a legend and every true Mexican boxing fan should too.
But Chavez JR is a straight b itch! You won't hear no argument from me on that.
He was a great fighter nobody debating that but it's a fact he is bitter and obsessed with oscar. Just like Jr needs to get over oscar beating his daddy. Still remember the excuses and whinning after the first loss. He trash talked himself into the rematch he didn't deserve and got embarrassed and brutally beat up worse until he quit on his stool. That whooping didnt need to happen if bitter sore loser chavez keeps his trap shut. Then kept talking more trash for years and got in the middle of the vargas vs oscar feud. Walked into the ring with vargas backed him and saw oscar brutally knock him out too. Got in the middle of the canelo/chavez feud in large part because he's Oscar's new golden boy. If canelo beats down jr this will be chavez 4th L to Oscar.

Oscar shows Sr respect hell him and canelo have nothing but great things to say about him. But he keeps taking digs at oscar and let's his son do it as well. Damn that whopping was 2 decades ago get over it chavez family.

Yes Oscar did beat senior but you gotta admit that he was already past it by then. Also, senior is a legendary type of fighter who is far from a *****. Oscar would probably tell you that.

Yes Chavez was past his prime but at age 33 he was still world champ and on everybody's top 10 P4p lists and nobody was calling his some shot bum. He was still regarded as one of the elite fighters in boxing. It's revisionist history to portray him as some shot fighter when he fought oscar. Just like before canelo fought cotto he was a top p4p fighter with folks saying he never looked better with Freddy and how he was going to school and knockout the younger canelo. Canelo wins and all a sudden cotto was some old washed up bum. SMH

Chavez was out of his prime and lost to a young hungry entering his prime oscar which is perfectly acceptable. Oscar went on to become a first ballot hall of fame who won titles in 6 weight classes no shame losing to him. The problem is the way Chavez whined and trash talked for years after this fight. It's the definition of bitter.

Good point about Cotto. It's true that everyone was saying how great he looked and that the Canelo fight was pretty even going in. I didn't realize that Sr. was still on the pound for pound lists by the time he fought Oscar though.

The history of boxing is littered with boxers that moved up to compete for a belt and then moved back down. That list includes Sugar Ray Robinson, Sugar Ray Leonard, Mayweather, De La Hoya, Roy Jones Jr, Duran, Tommy Hearns AND..........JULIO CESAR CHAVEZ SR.

Because he went down a weight to fight a guy who is basically a British domestic level fighter. To do this he gave up the Middleweight title after saying weight didn't matter. Then he heads up to 164,after he's backers telling us they didn't think he was ready for 160.If you can perform at 164 you can do it at 160.which we were told he wasn't ready for.

                  Well, he's not wrong.

There's plenty of ammo for both guys i guess if it came to a slanging match.

                    lol

i don't see any other more cowardly move than surrendering your belt to your rival and running to a different division to avoid him
