Loma is an exceptional fighter without question. He just put on a dominant performance against Jason Sosa that showed an incredible amount of skill and talent. He deserves credit and respect.

At this stage of his career, he hasn't shown that he can apply his vast skills against bigger men with top level pro experience.

I understand why HBO and his fans are so high on him. They should be. But to suggest he is better than Floyd is just ridiculous.

I get there is a large contingent on NSB that wants to try and make the world forget about Floyd but you only force people to acknowledge his greatness when you constantly elevate guys to his level out of pettiness or jealousy when it's clear they do not belong there.

Floyd Mayweather is one the handful of greats the sport has and will ever see.

Right now we are all in shock at just how good Loma is. I'm happy to wait for that shock to wear off before I make comparisons with Loma and the greats of the past.

I would say that I would much rather watch Loma fight than Mayweather. To be fair though, Mayweather only got really boring in the last part of his career.
I can't believe I'm sticking up for Floyd. I agree when Floyd was younger he was amazing. I don't know if it was his hands or because he was fighting bigger guys but I don't appreciate his newer style of boxing.

I don't think Loma has the one thing that allows for him to transcend like Floyd did which IMO, was his reach. For his height it really helped him and when you watch his bouts where his ability to dominate was literally dictated by the smallest of margins and by mere inches. It was probably what allowed him to face bigger man and manipulate fights so freely.

Floyd at 130 never went 12 with a bum Thai fighter like Loma.

WIll Loma have to move up in weight for anyone to fight him?
Have we ever seen anyone like Loma? There are plenty of guys who are better than 8-1.

Yup its getting disgusting around here. Loma deserves legit p4p ranking but he did already lose to Salido and hasn't beaten any of the top guys at 130. Can he at least rematch Salido and clean out 130? Hell he didn't even clean out 126 never fought Rigo, cruz, frampton, ect. He has a lot of work to do before you can even mention him with greats like floyd, etc.

You can't sweep the L under the rug like it never happened. I don't penalize him for it against his peers but when you take it to this level it has to be considered

Even a Sosa win isn't that good, he's lost before.
