They can agree on a certain number of fights at a certain price but can Conor perform his services for anyone else? That's one of the main behavior tests. You cannot stop a true independent contractor from offering his services to anyone else. I don't care what contract Conor has with UFC. Contracts don't void U.S. Labor Laws.
I've been an independent contractor most of my life in various fields. Had to remind a couple folks what an independent contractor is. Had to sue one company who refused to recognize my independent status. The IRS is cracking down on that independent contractor scam. It's just a way for companies to avoid paying the cost of doing business
