Expect it to be a lot different than TV, that's for sure. No commentary. Almost a quiet chill in the atmosphere as you see two dudes throwing punches that you know are landing, but you can't hear because you sit so far back, lol. Then all a sudden a dude gets dropped and everyone wakes up and goes nutty.
It's always a fun time, but there is something tranquil about it as well.Comment

Sh^t there's guys with 0% winning percentage brother lol.
Here's my first card I went to btw.
http://boxrec.com/show/11489
Former champ & Ali opponent Ernie "Whats My Name" Terrell promoting. It had top ten alphabet group ranked HW & iirc #12 by KO magazine at the time, Mike Evans vs a 7-16-1 boxer.
It had a comebacking George Navarro (19-3) who had lost to Hector Lopez, RIP & who's son Adam boxes pro now, & Jeff Fenech vs a 0-4 guy lol.
It had local undefeated prospects Vinny Letizia (RIP) & Kenny Bowman vs 6-20-1 & 0-3 boxers respectively.
The only fight that really was competitive as I recall was local undefeated prospect Pat Coleman (12-0) vs Terry Whitaker (22-7-2).
It also had one of the notorious losers on the midwest circuit on the card. Terence Wright aka Ben Judah aka probably a dozen other names who retired at 4-51-2 & after being KO'd 31 times. He had an impressive 8 year losing streak where he went 0-31-2 & was KO'd by Gerald McClellan & Dariusz Michalczewski among many others.Comment

If Buffer is there be prepared to be let down. It's way better on TV when you can actually hear him over all the live fans screaming.
The atmosphere of a big fight is up there for me with the World Cup matches I've been to in the past. It's amazing at timesComment

I think sitting very close to the ring is something special. You can hear the punches land and hear what the fighters, the corners and the ref is saying. It's different than watching at home. The drawback is guys in front of you who stand up and block your view every time a boxer lands a big punch and hurts his opponent. Not everybody does this but many inconsiderate guys do. If you have far back seats even more guys can jump up and block your view and you don't have the advantages of being close to the fighters. I would rather watch a fight at home than watch it from far back seats. The actual fights will have a lot to do with how much you enjoy them. Some cards are great, some are average and some are poor.Comment
