Then all a sudden a dude gets dropped and everyone wakes up and goes nutty.

It's always a fun time, but there is something tranquil about it as well.
This right here is pretty much what I experienced my first boxing event. First thing you'll notice is there is no commentary in the place like you see on TV. It also gets quiet at times, until someone lands a big one or gets dropped. WHen the place erupts and the action starts heating up, it's crazy.
    Have fun man!!!

You'll hear the contact unlike what you hear on a broadcast!
You will be exposed to fans who show respect and others that are disrespectful.
Bring a young lady with you they usually leave the show extremely horny!!!! great show!

Here's my first card I went to btw.

        http://boxrec.com/show/11489

Former champ & Ali opponent Ernie "Whats My Name" Terrell promoting. It had top ten alphabet group ranked HW & iirc #12 by KO magazine at the time, Mike Evans vs a 7-16-1 boxer.

It had a comebacking George Navarro (19-3) who had lost to Hector Lopez, RIP & who's son Adam boxes pro now, & Jeff Fenech vs a 0-4 guy lol.

It had local undefeated prospects Vinny Letizia (RIP) & Kenny Bowman vs 6-20-1 & 0-3 boxers respectively.

The only fight that really was competitive as I recall was local undefeated prospect Pat Coleman (12-0) vs Terry Whitaker (22-7-2).

It also had one of the notorious losers on the midwest circuit on the card. Terence Wright aka Ben Judah aka probably a dozen other names who retired at 4-51-2 & after being KO'd 31 times. He had an impressive 8 year losing streak where he went 0-31-2 & was KO'd by Gerald McClellan & Dariusz Michalczewski among many others.
WTF? Who would ever want to Watch those clowns LOL? I figured theyd have at least .500 Fighters to Watch!

I love boxing. I'd watch fights, at all levels of the game, all day if I could. I don't care if I can predict the winner in 99/100 fights cuz they are setup/fixed fights via matchmaking basically lol. That 1/100 fight is the one I care about the most.

Most of the shows I've been to looked more like the show I linked than the stuff we see on TV even at the Fox Sports 1ish undercard levels. Its amateur hour sh^t. But thats most of boxing thats happening if you actually follow boxing all over the world on a daily basis & not just the big fights. There is an unofficial minor league to the sport.

And honestly thats why I'm a fan of less fights & less boxers cuz I don't believe its good for the sport ultimately to have club shows or even the bigger promoter shows that have 8-12 fights that are setup/fixed fights via matchmaking on a card. Its no good for the better fighter to just beat the sh^t outta a guy cuz its not helping him become a better fighter, its no good for the guy getting the sh^t beat outta him for obvious reasons & its no good for fans who wanna see a competitive sporting event (granted boxing does have a freak show audience like NASCAR & other combat sports where some fans just wanna see the accident & KO aspect, but I believe those fans to be in the minority).

Thanks for the lesson bro.! Ya Learn something new Every Day! Ya I didnt Know that. Basically What I have seen is your Fox 1/Espn/CBSSN Level Fights (that u referenced), all the way up to, of course, SHO/HBO Top Fights. Occasionally there are, of course, mismatches, but by and large (obviously) they show Fighters with good or great records, even on undercards.
Like you, I, too, Love Boxing! So Tell me more about this "unofficial" minor league. I guess youre referring to club-type Fighters that just Fight locally, or in foreign countries mainly? None of This is ever on TV, I assume, right?

It is a treat to be there live, maybe even in the "nose bleed" section. Worth going and seeing what it is all about. I used to go all the time but became more of an armchair viewer over the last few years. Seen Mike McCallum, Michael Carbajal, Milton McCrory, Meldrick Taylor, Vasilly Jirov, B-Hop and more. Probably dating myself with some of these fighters though.
