    Anyone think if other examples?
Floyd has that Michael Jordan-level of sports mania; if Floyd would've loss the first Castillo fight, he would've run back the rematch, won the rematch in clear fashion (unless you're wanting to doubt that outcome now too, lol; if so, the hate is obvious).

Without the unbeaten mark, Floyd's "quest to be the best" edge likely goes into hyperdrive; titles at 140, 147 (which would be where he'd still settle in), 154, and the possibility of taking a chance at 160lbs, keeping things moving until someone beat him (or got near it).

Floyd would still be fighting now, whooping everyone at 147lbs (with all eyes set on the eventual Floyd vs Spence Jr fight), and likely setting the stage to whoop on Billy Joe Saunders for his WBO 160lb belt (Floyd's not going to be an idiot about it, but he'd definitely take the chances if they make sense).

One close defeat (that he immediately avenged), and world titles at 130lbs, 135lbs, 140lbs, 147lbs, 154lbs, and 160lbs, and Floyd Mayweather Jr would still be TBE, no matter how much you want to knock him

the misscoring of that fight will have an effect on boxing for a long time.

it cemented a precedent that that the guy landing the cleaner punches and forcing his opponent into holding and bending over below the waist was being outboxed. now thats all you have to do...survive the killer ward-kov style. boxing ruined

      great post.

Floyd's style is what ushered in Andre Ward.

they have conned the boxing commission and public into believing their illegal tactics is actually them being "slick" and "intelligent" ROFLMAO

they are simply doing illegal moves in the ring that their opponents would be penalized for.

SKILLZ PAY DA BILLZ! You gotta hug and run your way to a controversial decision or it don't count.

      it's absolutely ridiculous.

That fight was a robbery because it confirmed that the way we look at boxing is not in terms of who is landing what but who is doing what we want them to do and that is completely subjective and its why boxing has become so political. a fighter can win almost solely on reputation or keeping a fight slow and tactical even if he loses the slow and tactical battle as did floyd and ward for example.

examples of this type of scoring can be found when people say floyd dictated the pace. instead of focusing on the action and punches you focus on how you thought the pace should go if pac were to win. the fact that it was a slower and more tacticial fight does not give floyd the automatic win.

you say he controlled manny with jabs. well his jabs were mostly falling short, hitting gloves, or barely grazing pac. hardly clean effective punches. if you look at more accurate punch stats taken from the fight they both landed a very similar amount of punches but it was pac with the much cleaner flusher punches while it was floyd with mostly grazing, slapping, or push off type punches. also the vast majority of pacs clean punches were power shots whle the vast majority of floyd were jabs. now if these were ggg power jabs he would certainly have a much better case but the majority of his jabs were just barely grazing or landing. they were stay away from me type jabs. this can be an effective way of winning but you have to make sure your opponent isnt catching you with the harder shots and in more of the roudns pac was catchin him with the harder shots so his stay away jabs were not effective.

also my other point was that the fight was given to the guy who constantly grabbed hold and bent over below the waist when his opponent was trying to do work. this confirms another bad precedent. the thinking illegal moves are defense precedent. or thinking illegal moves are ring generalship. floyd should have been punished by the ref for doin these type of moves but since the ref was kenny bayless he did nothing. the second line of defens against illegal moves should have been the judges. they should have given the close rounds to the guy forcing the other into doing illegal moves just to keep up. the third lin of defense should be the fans who saw this but a lot of them have been so conditioned to seeing these type of moves that it has become normal. another reason this fight will go down as having the biggest impact on boxing and in a negative way.

Juan Manuel Marquez getting jobbed in the Pacquiao fights

If the rightful result had been established (Marquez won the 2nd and 3rd fights, imo), Pacquiao would've fought longer at 135lbs and settled in at 140lbs, fighting guys like Tim Bradley, Amir Khan, Lamont Peterson, and the rest of that bumper crop of talent at 140lbs before the moves up.

Mayweather is very strong mentally. Judah was always mentally weak. If Mayweather had lost the first Castillo fight on the cards I believe it would only make him more determined to succeed. He would have gone on to have the same great career he did have. I thought Castillo won the first fight by two points. I thought the fight was too close to call it a robbery. Mayweather is a great American fighter and I think you started this thread with the desire to discredit him. It's typical of all the many hate threads you start attacking American boxing, American fans and American boxers.

Why would Floyd have fought Lara? He'd just signed the $250m deal with Showtime, the Guerrero fight had barely done 1m buys (going off of what Showtime said, since folks have no issue taking what Loeffler says as gospel) and Showtime needed a big event.

Lara, even if he would've edged his way to beating Alvarez (in negative fight), is not that guy.

Were the Alvarez fight not to have happened, we likely end up with Floyd fighting Amir Khan at 147lbs; the event likely doesn't do 2.2m PPV buys, but it has the name ID to draw over 1m PPV buys.

The judges gave the first Mayweather-Castillo fight to Mayweather by scores of 116-111, 115-111 and 115 111 which means even if Castillo had done even better he still would have lost. It does look like the judges were going to give the fight to Mayweather no matter what actually happened in the ring. The judges were out to rob Castillo if that was needed to ensure a Mayweather win. Those score cards are ridiculous.

Going by the standard of "robbery" you could argue Luis Lugo was robbed against Mike Dallas.

Not seen enough of that guy to know but he's a legit journeyman so maybe along the way he has.

Lara would have outboxed Floyd for 12 rounds, and the Floyd fans would say it doesn't count as a robbery with Floyd getting crowned the victor.
