I added a few more notes into your post. Oscar telling the LA Times on 3/25 he's taking the verbal agreement off the table speaks volumes. But anyways, here is your post with a few bolded notes of my own:





-GGG becomes Canelo's mandatory at 160

-Canelo/Golden Boy request extension from K2/Golovkin, agreement is made between both camps and the WBC that each will take interim bouts and fight after.

-Canelo chooses to defend middleweight belt against Amir Khan 5/7. Golovkin has IBF mandatory for Dominic Wade 4/27.

-Canelo tells the boxing world that Mexicans don't F around and he'll fight GGG right there and then.

-In the post fight presser, Canelo states "There's not going to be any issue. No weight issues. For me, there's no issue. I'll fight him at 160. There's no issue."

-Canelo vacates the belt and drops back down to 154

-Oscar says Canelo is not a true MW

-Canelo signs to take on Chavez Jr at 164

-WBC creates new "commemorative belt", a belt that celebrates Mexican holidays and there is no better Mexican Holiday king than Canelo. Canelo-Chavez winner will be the first to win this truly epic belt, which the WBC has named the belt the "Adolfo López Mateos" after the former Mexican president.


-Oscar says on 3/21 that the chances for Canelo-GGG decreased after Golovkin’s performance against Jacobs, noting it was a narrow decision victory not an exciting KO, perhaps forgetting Canelo has had a couple narrow decision victories and a boring lopsided loss himself.

-Oscar says on 3/25 that he's “pulling off the table the verbal deal" for Canelo to fight Golovkin in September and is now hinging Golovkin’s purse to pay-per-view sales.

-Oscar tells GGG that if he takes a fight just one month after Canelo faces JCC Jr that he'll pull he offer for a fight in Sept

I presume the other fighter you are referring to is Jacobs? The fight was close but he legitimately lost, you cant give some many of the early rounds away, get dropped and then not clearly dominate the rest of the fight. Jacobs should have been more active.

I would like to see the rematch but I want GGG to get Saunders belt and then rematch Jacobs.

The one belt is irrelevant, but being the unified champion is not. That is definitely a marketing advantage. Not to the serious boxing fans like us, but to the casual fans, the masses who have no idea what a WBO belt means.

Can't work like that. The money for a fight in Kazakhstan is during this years Expo which kicks off on June 10th. If it ain't Saunders it'll be someone else I expect.

Golovkin should just take the Saunders fight and do what he has consistently stated his primary goal is; unify 160 titles.

Then just let the marbles fall where they will for the Canelo fight, that's "just" a money fight anyway as Canelo has no 160 titles! If it doesnt happen in September then GGG can just fight someone else, and maybe another one in December. Canelo can be May 2018.
