I think I understand why Joe Calzaghe is still mocked.

        joe calzaghe makes a lot of the american posters on here very insecure. he was there worst nightmare- a european fighter who couldnt be beaten. They told us lacy would beat the hype job- joe took him to school, the best america had to offer. Then they said joe would get schooled by hopkins and jones jr- joe fought them both in there backyards, clearly beat hopkins by landing more punches on him than anyone in their career has, and then he beat up roy jones without getting out of 3rd gear. The butthurt is still evident on this site, i thought people would have got over the beatings joe inflicted on there guys by now but obviously not

          Bullied and beat those 2 with ease and not to mention beating more americans like Peter Manfredo and beat Jeff Lacy so bad you'd think Joe was his daddy.

          Hating is bad people, especially to the americans out there. Give Joe his props and realise hes easily the best fighter of this generation since Floyd should have lost to Castillo.

          Roy was way past his prime and Bhop was old too. If he beat them that would have been fine, but it's his gloating that I hate. When Roy was spurting blood everywhere he was playing around and disrespecting him, and when he beat Eubank (another one past his prime) he openly said afterwards he doesn't feel sorry or respect him as a fighter. He always gets them when they're about to keel over and retire. Sorry, he should have crossed the Atlantic when they were in their prime and fought them. At least Naseem Hamed did that back then. That's why no one outside of England really knows who he is.

                No one is crying.

                Not one person I saw here denied that Calzaghe is a great champion.

                But, with his signature wins being over the hill versions of RJJ and BHop, the glory only goes so far.

                You are like those folks who call Marciano the greatest heavyweight of all time and cite his wins over Louis and Moore as proof- while ignoring the two of them were ancient by the time Rocky met them.

                And yeah, there is also the guys HE DIDNT fight the last few years or the guys he avoided by retiring.

                  Nah, watch it again in slow motion and on mute....focus on the punches landing and the time in the round....

                    Jones, Hopkins, Holyfield, Chavez, Whitaker are the best of recent times with Mayweather, Pacquaio, Marquez right there just slightly behind and then the rest is Calzaghe, Trinidad, Morales, Lewis, Barrera etc just behind that trio;

                    In my opinion of course. I think Crawford and Lomachenko are the two current guys I expect to break into that list.

                      Agree with everything EXCEPT putting Calslappy ahead of Morales. I'm sorry, I can't abide by that at all.
