He's not scared but he's a control freak. He and an associate took his promoter Joe Goosen to court to try and break his contract. They lost three times. This caused a long layoff in his fight career and cost him millions of dollars in lost purses. He has to be in control. Breaking this contract may end up costing him his career if goes to court. He's an extremely talented boxer with a chip on his shoulder.

WTH... Let's be real here. Ward know d@mn well he didn't win that fight. It's funny how some of the same people crying about the clear W Triple G won last sat, are saying he needs to give Jacobs a rematch. Now I'm seeing ppl say things like you. It's a rematch clause in the first contract. Ward is in control but he claims he doesn't run from anyone... He needs to prove to himself and the people he can clearly whoop Kovalev. Dude doesn't want to fight the Krusher again but there's no way out BUT TO RETIRE. That would be H O E @zz way to retire.Am tired of hearing Kovalev and his fans continue to cry like bit!che$. Dude needs to be humble and ask for the rematch respectfully and with offering of a incentive. He can't being crying and demanding anything. Kovalev was talking about how he was going to destroy and knock Ward out only to end up being shy about it when in the ring. You had you chance and you couldnt put away a guy coming from a lower weight to challenge you. Even with a good head start with a knock down you still couldn't put away the smaller man. For Kovalev and his fan base

nothing delusional, the popular consensus is that no one wants this shit of a rematch.
Also, Marquez didnt build his career of Pacquiao, it's not my fault you're still seriously butthurt over your hero getting destroyedComment

Who gets more butts into the seats... Ward or Kovalev? This isn't about 'drivers seat'. This is about a fighter who is obviously chicken to fight Kovalev. He's no big draw. Draw = big money. The terms were already agreed upon before the first fight... Hello? So where does the mega check money come from for the diva anyway? You Wardaholics should think first, THEN type.Comment

LOL! Forget any kid gloves with Ward. He's a diva, he's chicken, and he already signed a contract to the terms for fight #2. Problem is, HE is #2. Can't even find the stones to fight, blames it on 'respect'. The guy who can't draw flies to his fights in his own hometown. Maybe you Wardaholics should pool your money together to pay him the insane check he demands. Other than that... WHERE exactly do you think the money comes from? Grown on trees, perhaps?Am tired of hearing Kovalev and his fans continue to cry like bit!che$. Dude needs to be humble and ask for the rematch respectfully and with offering of a incentive. It's been almost 5 months, what's the problem? Why he scared if he's so good? That is what we all wondering. That's what you don't got an answer for.
He's scared because he got his azz kicked the first fight, likely doesn't wanna go thru that again. And please, save us the ancient history lesson. We're talking about NOW. The rematch he's obviously scared to take NOW.How could he be scared if they already fought? I'm not as invested in why Ward hasn't signed up for the rematch as you seem to be but I'm sure he has his reasons. The one thing I'm certain of it isn't because he's scared. The point I was trying to make if Kovalev and his team want to negotiate a rematch they're going about it the wrong with the name calling and other tactics. You do realize that boxing is one of the only sports that lack of fear is prerequisite for stepping in the ring. I'm sure Andre Ward didn't fight in the Olympics, fight as a professional, fight Kovalev, and all of sudden decide he's scared to get back in the ring with him.Comment
