The fight was close because Golovkin wanted it close. He could finish Jacobs in any round but decided to let him go. Why? To lure out Canelo and Sanders, those two cowards, GGG had to sucrifice his KO streak. Just rewatch 4 and 5 rounds. GGG was murdering DJ, knocked him down and could go on. But decided to give DJ a few rounds. Every round for DJ could be like 4th round. 33 landed GGG, only 11 for DJ. Just rewatch it. GGG was playing with DJ and Canelo.

          both
jacobs made golovkin respected his power, missed his big shots and confused him
and ofc absorbed punch better than expected
many people underestimated jacobs before fight

Six months ago if someone told me Jacobs was this "crafty" I definitely would have hesitated to agree. Suddenly, at least now, I see it. He is crafty and definitely durable. He showed a lot and that is in his favor. It would be great to see him continue on this level!

Golovkin looked mediocre vs Brook and it seemed like the same version that fought Danny J. Now he's fighting guys that hit back and don't get scared as easy and 3G is finding it harder to have his way with them. Great middleweights of the past would trounce Golovkin.

After round 5, GGG knew this fight was his. Thats why Jacobs, looked better in the second part of the fight.

I am a GGG fan. I don't know what other GGG fans think, but you are right. I think GGG gets old, he is getting slower. Also, his power decreases too. He gets tired too fast. I don't think he can win Canelo. It is too late to fight Canelo now. The best option is to avoid Canelo by demanding 40%, Canelo won't agree to get 60%.

May be Jacobs or Saunders will win Canelo by decision in the future . Because Canelo also has problems against slick boxers.

Really? Save for Floyd he's beaten all of the ones he's faced. Can you name any fighters that have an easy time with slick boxers? ****** comment

Like GGG, Canelo also has problems with slick boxers. What I said doesn't contradict that everyone has problems with slick boxers. Your comment is BS.
