Granted, Daniel Jacobs (32-2, 29 KOs) didn't win the fight but snapping the murderous-punching Gennady Golovkin's 23-bout knockout streak and falling short of an upset by a round or two was certainly a major feather in his cap.

Jacobs was a little better than we expected, and Golovkin was not quite what we expected

    I ALWAYS said this.....

" He is troubled by fleet footwork. Golovkin can handle lateral movement as long as its only in one direction..... "

I picked that based on the guys who they fought..... compared to the guys who they could have fought, but chose not to

if your style is "available", then you got the fight..... but if you are a mover/spoiler or master boxer, forget it.....

Jacobs is a world class fighter, in his prime. It's crazy that people expected GGG to just destroy a guy like Jacobs.

We are so used to GGG running thru people that it is so surreal if someone gives him a fight.

Close fights happen when the best fight the best.

Jacobs definitely did show some of Golovkins flaws that others briefly did and it was a close fight, but Golovkin did win

if somebody believes GGG is fading you're basically not giving Danny any credit.

the reason it was close is because GGG respected Jacobs power and handspeed. notice he never went to the body fearing the speedy Jacobs would counter.

Willie Monroe is actually a great mover that's hard to hit. but GGG never feared the consequences of walking through his punches.

being fast with great legs is not enough, you gotta have enough power to make GGG think twice.

this is why I think he would maul Lara. but Ward has underrated power and is an animal at close range, that would've been a loss for GGG but he wisely ducked him. its all good.

Canelo has faster hands and better reflexes than Jacobs. he rehydrates bigger and is very explosive in the pocket with combinations. GGG will have his hands full.

The only people losing spunk are GGG's fanboys.

Disagree about Canelo. He will have his moments but he will be there to be hit, he doesn't have the foot speed and trading with Golovkin is a losing man's game.

Call me a hater but I never bought the GGG hype. No, thanks. Good luck to him.

That's why I would suggest Canelo to avoid the Lemmy fight. What would Canelo do if the bigger and stronger Lemieux would have him on the ropes and start attacking the body? He may have the hands to counter him but does he have the feet to get away?

Lemeiux has the chin to hold up against big punchers and has the power to spark every MW out there not named GGG.
