You add that he'd still have the Golden Boy Magazine middleweight belt (unifying all of the belts, in my opinion, establishes a new lineage at the weight), and he'd likely still do what he's been doing. Take on the biggest fights possible and the biggest events possible.

Alvarez vs David Lemieux (after the performance against a fading Curtis Stevens) is now the type of explosive fight that would entice MGM Resorts to host, Willie Monroe Jr's style still sucks (and the beef being what it is), but Alvarez vs Jacobs/Khurtsidze/Monroe Jr are the types of potential fights that Alvarez could likely sell out NYC with.

You add that Saul Alvarez just got 50k people to come see him fight an unknown fighter in the US, at AT&T Stadium, and he's basically at the point where he can fight anyone and do massive business in TX, all while owing no obligations to anyone (likely until he decides that he wants to challenge for a belt at 168lbs).

Golovkin could hold all of the belts, but that also means that he'll have to fulfill his obligations; Khurtsidze is currently owed a title shot by the WBO, Jermall Charlo and Sergiy Derevyanchenko are likely 1-2 fights away from being owed shots by the WBC and IBF, respectively and, with the Jacobs fight having happened, the WBA's clock has already started and Hassan N'Dam is their lead challenger.

While Golovkin is left to simply cycle through his mandatories (none of the four possible fights mentioned are earnestly PPV fights, whether they end up on PPV or not), Alvarez is simply left chasing the biggest, most marketable fights that he can make at whatever weight he wants (keeping to his 2 PPV/1 regular HBO schedule).

Alvarez doesn't thirst after the trinkets the way Golovkin does, so Golovkin having all of the shiny trinkets isn't really going to change this for Alvarez.
So in other words alvarez will continue to fight bums and catch weights and never fight for a title as long as ggg holds all belts. Got it.

6 out of his last 7 fights have been at fake weights that he made up. i dont think he will care if he continues to do that.

He will just make up weights as he goes along draining or bringing up lower weight fighters to canela weight. As you can see by the responses people will still buy his fights so it doesn't matter. What I find hilarious is that these chumps probably hated Floyd for fighting for money. But since it is canela it is cool. He is bigger than belts doe.

His fans are more concerned about the money he makes than his achievements, why should he be any different

Nothing, Canelo is bigger then the belts, especially for the guy that was gifted 2 of 3 belts outside the ring.

With the early notes coming from Golovkin-Jacobs, folks are most definitely overstating the lucrativeness of fighting Golovkin, even with all of the trinkets.

Golovkin-Jacobs, if the initial info is to be believed, will end up doing comparable business to what Ward-Kovalev did (more money at the live gate, but significantly less money on PPV).
you are smoking crack if you think Canelo will fight Zurdo at ANY POINT IN TIME.

He'll be the guy fighting at 160 for non title fights. All roads will lead to ggg. Golden boy know this so that's why they don't want the saunders fight to happen. If it does, canelo has no choice but to fight ggg or be a laughing stock. GB hopes ggg dosen't face saunders meanline they come up with a new offer every 6 months. 10 million, 15 million, flat fee, no fight in between, etc.....
if ggg doesnt take whatever canelo offers then it goes like this: while ggg fights mandatories, canelo can rematch cotto, and chavez this year, then jacobs, lemule, charlo, andrade, etc... the list goes on, pretty much anyone within 2 divisions will be more than willing to fight him under his terms... all of those fights can be profitable ppvs while ggg most likely goes back to network since his 2 ppvs floped...
after all those opponents ggg will still be there in the near future, but let me tell you the longer it takes, the better for canelo so if anyone wants this fight sooner rather than latter should be ggg...
