Not just the no.1 spot. I mean look at the names being on the list than look at the names on these lists.

why does yours even have GGG in it at the time if you are worried about fighting top opposition? in his career GGG has fought one top guy at 160 and thats Jacobs.....Geale had just lost to barker and got trounced by Cotto, just after.....Lemmy is top 5 but he hasnt proven to be top 3 elite yet......so by your own admission, GGG shouldnt be in the top 5, let alone top ten considering he has fought very few world class guy lol

but i bet he was in your top ten p4p....you gotta be consistent and not make your biase, double standards so easy to see lol

              has Ward ever lost? no

he beat Dawson in 2012( a champion)...rodriquez was a top ten contender at 168 at the time he fought him, thats world class in 2013....he didnt fight in 2014 and only fought paul smith in 2015 he beat a solid top ten 175er in Barrera and unseated a top 5 p4p entrant in kovalev in 2016

where did you get four years from?

              has he beaten elite
Come on, do you want me to go over this yet again?

I understand your problem is that Ward deserves to be in any list regardless of opponents but after Dawson (even that fight is a joke but lets give it to Ward) the so called p4p entrant didnt fight a world class opponent for 4 YEARS.

And I'm being very loose with my definition here and giving Barrera a shout as a world class opponent (on account of a couple good wins).

Add to that the fact tha the was inactive for over a year (thats an automatic exclusion in my criteria) and then he came back to fight 2 journeymen, at best. Paul Smith had to fight at 170+ lol

None of that is comparable to GGG fighting former 3x champion Geale, top contender Macklin (who in the eyes of most beat the longest reigning middle weight champ at the time) and top level contender Murray. Add in the Lem unification and thats that. He has beaten the best available opponents in his division and done so looking levels above them for the most part.

Thats all a fighter can do. Its why Wlad is considered a great heavyweight or Finito Lopez a great minimumweight.

Ward fighting journeymen outside of their best weight is pathetic in comparison and so for me doesn ot put him back into the p4p list before the arrival of th Kovalev fight. It really is as simple as that.

My list and criteria are there t oread and consistent. E.g. Bradley would be on my list and should be on any list but he has last his last fight and then been inactive. Cant keep on the list while other fighters have been active and won.

Unless you believe Rodriguez and Smith are better opponents than Macklin, Murray, Geale, Lem and Jacobs?

                Pacquiao

2 relatively dominant wins over top 10 fighters in his division in the past year.

One was the #2 ranked fighter in his dvision (Bradley).

That win over Bradley can be considered the single best win of any top fighter as far as quality of opponent + margin of victory over the past year.

Bradley is arguably on the same level as some of guys in this thread being named p4p #1...and Pacquiao beat him with relative ease.

I thought Kovalev kicked his ass and Ward just doesn't seem that good pound for pound these days. For pound for pound I have to judge the Ward of today and not the Ward of many years ago who beat good fighters in the supper six.Ward is about 9th on my top 10 PFP list.

                    great post
That last fight with bradley was good but he already fought the guy 2 times prior..Vargas' claim to fame was beating a prospect in Ali

Thurman's win over Garcia and Porter are more impressive..both were in their prime, Garcia was undefeated and Porter only lost to Brook at the time

for manny to get back in the top 3 for me, he has to beat a top 5 ww NOT named Bradley.....Bradley is a good fighter but he is getting a little worn since the provodnikov fight. he hasnt looked right since to me. Rios is punching bag so that wasnt an impressive win

IMO if manny beats Winner of brook/ Spence or unifies with Thurman, he should be #1....but he wont fight those guys.

Bob likes that in house dough
