Yeah had my family over. It was like the 2nd time they watched a boxing match lol. I actually hoped for the fight to end in a knock out but my family actually enjoyed which was surprising. Would buy again.

I predicted 150k which is okay for a fight we thought wouldn't be very competitive.... the problem is that it doesn't give him any extra leverage in negotiations with Canelo. So that fight doesn't get any closer

It really bothers me that fights like Canelo/Smith and Floyd/Berto sells about the same as Crawford/Postol, Ward/Kov and GGG/jacobs combined.
Why does that bother you? None of the fights mentioned belonged on ppv. At least Canelo and Floyd were legit stars though. The others are unknown to most and had no business being on ppv(even though they were good fights)... they were only on ppv because the parties involved wanted more money than they really deserve. Old school ppv use to be a legit star in a great fight or 2 stars fighting eachother.

I get your point I just wish PPV sales were driven by the quality of the fight moreso than the name of the A side fighter.

You make a fair point that none of the other fights belonged on PPV as well. I just think its better when the best fights sell more than throw away fights with big names in it.

I thought that people seemed more excited for the Lemieux fight than this

It's a shame that it had to be on PPV in the first place, because on regular HBO GGG vs Jacobs probably draws close to 2m viewers and Gonzalez vs Srisaket probably 700k-900k headlining its own card. PPVs at a premature stage of a boxer's career actually just limit his audience

and all we heard was how GGG needed to pay Jacobs $50 millions because he was more known than Lemieux and blah blah blah

They'll say numbers were like 200k+ in a week.

Just like how Canelo's numberd get inflated. I.E., Canelo vs Smith was reported around 220k buys, but Golden Girl says 300k. Or something like that.
