Little G fans always subtract about 200K PPVs from Canelo's numbers so that means Little G did about -50K to -70K PPV buys, .

PPVs either flop or succeed based on casual interest. to get casuals to pay you need crossover appeal. or an exciting Hispanic fighter. if you don't have any of that it's gonna flop.

Ward/Kovalev was the Superbowl fight for us hardcore fans. but it should be obvious by now hardcore fans don't buy ****.
Kovalev ward was a megafight for the harcore fans i agree. What i was trying to say PPV basically flops now unless its a fight like maypac and there really are no huge fights like that in the sport right now. The only fight in boxing i really see passing 1mil right now is canelo vs GGG.

Agreed by now it's proven unless GGG fights Canelo he should NEVER fight on PPV again. But since this fight was on PPV and lost money and hurt GGG's stock with a bad performance with many feeling he lost fight. Can't call it a success it was a massive failure to GGG's brand on many levels.

No Glaser does, Canelo fans use Glaser numbers for Golovkin fights, but when it comes to Canelo fights they ignore Glaser numbers and go with the higher number.

K2 could of let this go to purse bid or given the fight to Haymon to stage on Showtime outright. Showtime was willing to pay for it. CBS/Showtime paid Thurman/Garcia 4m in fight purses. GGG/Jacobs only made 4.25m. And even if you take a little less it's better then forcing a fight on PPV and it being a disaster like this that hurts GGG's stock. Back to back PPV busts will certainly be used against them in Canelo negotiations and HBO probably never gives GGG a PPV again. Could of avoided this by letting the fight go to Showtime and let them pay to keep it away from PPV.

GGG wants to be paid and act like a PPV star but he can't produce like one. This is what fans like myself been saying and his fans who say things like he needs 50/50 or even 40/60 from Canelo. Demanding more then 15m SMH

You make a fair point that none of the other fights belonged on PPV as well. I just think its better when the best fights sell more than throw away fights with big names in it.

U can't force people to buy ppv.

The casuals only care about big names.

I bet Mayweather vs McGregor easily does over 1 mill ppv buys, if it happens.

i was one of those 120k buyers. Why wouldnt I? 2 good fight. I enjoyed it. Now GGG has to accept the flat fee offer ASAP or GBP will find a way to not make the fight.

15m on the table for months yet who refuses to sign? But sure it's GBP that doesn't want the fight. GGG been pricing himself out and you see how crappy his only 2 PPVs did and has the nerve to say 2 weeks ago I want a 50/50 split. Delusional SMH
