Personally, I don't believe Oscar can be trusted. I think he's a crook. As a fighter, he always made his opponents take shorts and as a promoter he is no different.

Golovkin team saw that contract and found something wrong with it. It's just like when Mayweather offered Pacquiao that take it or leave it flat fee of $40 Mil, while he takes all the money made through the PPV sales; Which Manny rightfully so turned down.

I bet the Canelo deal is very similar to that one. I bet he'll get more than his share of the money on the back end through PPV sales, while GGG gets virtually next to nothing. That's perhaps why his team hasn't accepted the offer at this time.

Golovkin and Pacquiao are two totally different situations. Pac sold out stadiums, had great PPV numbers, had a huge following and crossed over to pop culture icon status at his height. Golovkin is no where near where Manny was at the time Mayweather offered him the flat fee. Golovkin is not in a situation where he can demand things.


Golovkin will get his biggest purse and the "small percentage" PPV from the Canelo fight will be bigger than what he gets from Jacobs.
