    That would be so exciting.
All im saying is that attendance and tickets sold are two different things no matter who is fighting... im sure this gate will do good numbers since prices were very competitive... 80 or 90 pct of tickets sold is good numbers...

Dude I was at the fight.. there is no way there were 2-3k seats still available.. the 400$ tickets were the last to fill up and they almost got 80-90% full.. I could see almost a 95% seats occupied during chocolatito fight..
most of 100-200$ Seats were full at 9:30
300 and 400 ones were the last to fill..

Now that's what happens when a popular fighter takes on a real challenge in front of his home fans.
Look what you just said you are comparing canelo fighting Smith his hands down WORST named opponent in the last 5 years to a fight billed as a Mega international fight between 2 stars. And still that's the only comparable fight you can make for what Canelo did with Smith. I think that's a compliment that to Canelo Star power that he can fight a "Wade" type fighter and it be on PPV and fill over 51,000 seats breaking all records in that venue.

I'm surprised it sold as well as it did. They basically doubled the price of Lemieux tickets.

Leave FMJr and Canelo out of it... and tell who's the next best tickets seller in the U.S. right now?...
GGG and his little insecure fans. Even if GGG/Jacobs was a sell out (which it wasn't) and even if they gave ZERO comp tickets out (which almost never happens) it would STILL have a live gate less then Canelo/Smith. And worse then any Floyd live gate dating back to over a decade. The gap between what these guys do and GGG on his best day is so laughably wide.

No one says Golovkin can sell as good as Canelo, AFAIK. At least my opinion is that Golovkin sells half of what Canelo sells. That would be a 66/33 split.

If TS figures are correct then it did do better than Canelo/Smith, that fight done $5mill

What's funny is I don't even think this fight did horrible or anything like that. It's just funny how GGG fans talked down to Ward and other fighters and only bring up whether a fight sells out when it's convenient. Only bring up live gates when it's convenient. Screamed about how the Lemieux fight sold 99% of their tickets in first week and ultimately sold out. Leaving out how cheap the tickets were compared to other big fights. Now that they increased the prices BECAUSE they had to (Paid GGG/Jacobs much more money then they did for the Lemieux fight) comparable to what PPV stars sell oh who cares if it's a sell out? Who cares that there was almost 20% of tickets still on sale days leading up to the fight. Who cares that there were thousands left unsold at the time the event started.

My guess is they will do fine around 3m live gate which for other NON PPV stars is ok. But I do think they comp'd a ton of tickets and do they want to tell that to other promoters and fans? We'll see if they release the figures.
