Comments Thread For: Gennady Golovkin - Three Trainers Break Down How To Beat Him!

I think Lara's diminished as a fighter based on how he looked vs Martirosyn. Lara only fighting 2x a year vs low level of competition, in combination with his age may have lead to a slippage in his athletic reflexes.
Charlo and Eubank might prove to be great tests. Derevyanchenko as well.

To be fair Ward didn't drain him. His big mouth drained him. Dawson's own trainer even admitted that. Just like I don't blame Floyd when Canelo opened his big mouth and said 152 FIRST. Mean what you say, say what you mean...
"KELLERMAN: You are now once again the light heavyweight champion of the world. You've gotten rid of all the old fighters in the division but there's some new interesting young fighters here. Any interest you in particular?
DAWSON: I mean I would love a fight with Andre Ward. I mean I think that would make for a great fight.
KELLERMAN: Super middleweight champion.
DAWSON: Super middleweight champion. I could make 168 or we could do it at 175 —a catch weight— it don't matter to me. I wanna make my statement known. I want everybody to know who I am. I wanna go after the big dogs.
It's beyond foolish for Dawson to try to blame someone else for his problems with weight, when he repeatedly said publicly that he would have no issues making 168 pounds."

I don't want to derail the point of this thread but I'm not sure what you said is accurate. Canelo made a statement about dropping down to 150 to fight Mayweather in 2011...the fight took place in 2013. Your own eyes can see the difference in physique that Canelo had in those 2 years. He was much bigger and muscular in 2013 than in 2011.
Would his statement still apply? Especially considering what was reported in USA Today in 2013 (the year of the fight) when Canelo said quite clearly that he no longer wanted the catch weight but Mayweather (a champion already at light middle) would not fight a fellow champion unless it was at 152.
So a blank statement of "well he said it, so it happened" doesnt really hold true.

I agree that Jacobs, Lara, Saunders, and Canelo will all ask different questions..... all are good/very good fights
and I agree that Canelo has the best chance
Golovkin is the best middleweight

All three commentary seem spot on... till they mention that Billy Joe has a chance! Makes you doubt what was previously said. I mean... i know they're cheering for their man but... c'mon.

It kind of makes sense though??? Floyd wanted down the middle and Canelo probably knew the fight wouldn't happen so he got another 1-2 lbs out of the deal.
Still someone mentioned earlier with Dawson...THEY do it for the $$$$.
